If your filter socks n wool is effectively trapping all the detritus, then yes you can make use of your first compartment bottom 8" area to fill some bio media. I recommend siporax.   5. Yup, find a clean compartment to fill up more bacteria housing. Your tank will be more stable and you can feed coral n fishes more. Do you dose any bacteria? Cheers, James
  6. Coral should be ok, its the fishes that will die first. You will see fishes staying near water surface. Cheers, James

  8. Throw in a air pump and adjust wavemakers near water surface to suck air and increase oxygenation. I think you have a bacteria bloom Cheers, James
  9. You can use a cheaper carbon but replace more regularly. Increase your surface area for beneficial bacteria to host will help break down those nutrients. Run red led lights on cheato n harvest them regularly. Cheers, James
  10. I think he already saw improvement Rowaphos plus those cheap carbon will do. Change weekly for the carbon and monthly for rowaphos. What other bio filtration do you have? Cheers, James
  11. Ya its not going to be easy. But its an option. Or to speed things up maybe you can use more carbon to absorb the nutrients. Cheers, James
  12. Alternatively, you may want to slowly replace one a time your po4 rich live rocks with "bleached/vinegar soaked/flushed with distilled water "clean dead rocks with zero po4" to help control the algaes bloom or nutrients leech. Cheers, James
