  1. This is why I've quite made up my mind to use artificial ceramic rock for my next set up, though the cycling process will take longer due to the absence of existing bacteria found in live rocks, but you will have 100% peace of mind that your tank will be clear of pests. Heard from Iwarna Uncle that the artificial rocks are made to be more porous so that we can house more bacteria. Bros can consider this if you are setting up a new tank!
  2. I see.. And a CR is one of the alternative to dosing stuff to keep up the Kh and all the necessary elements right? Sorry still quite noob with these.. Which is actually a better system? Dosing or have a CR? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hi all bros, just wanna check, if a calcium reactor is the same with a fusion reactor accompanied with the right media and all the above stuff mentioned by Bro Xiggie (Co2 tank etc etc..) or is there actually a difference? Thanks in advance for the replies! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. All the best, eager to see your setup too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Yup, I agree with bro Angel Keeper.. I have been advised to invest in a good skimmer as well WC to facilitate in nutrient export, increase flow in tank, and most effectively throw in a few turbo snails to clean up the tank, I bought 10 snails and my dinos were all cleared in a few days, and when they cleared a particular area, the dino wont grow back on the same spot for a while.
  6. hi bros, Yup, Turbo snails work wonders! I having some dinoflagellates which the snails are also helping to clean up! I was recommended by ah beng to get a sea hare, but the sea hare he's trying to sell me is kinda big for my tank, so just stick with the snails for now.
  7. Hi all, just to give a quick update on what's happening to my tank. 1-2 weeks after the above post the diatoms have slowly cleared off. As many experienced bros have mention here an in the other threads, diatoms is just one of the new tank symptoms that will pass over time as long as water parameters are in check. but currently I'm having some Dinoflagellates which I'm trying to fight them off in my tank, but will share the experience in thread discussing about that also in the nuisance algae help forum.
  8. Thanks Bro M&M, Actually when i feed them in the day, they are eating ok.. that's actually the time i see them most active. But I do get to see them more as well recently, I think they are beginning to get used to the surrounding.
  9. Oic, okok so there's actually 2 LFS behind the Arowana gate... OMG.. *palm to forhead*
  10. Erm.. Sorry ar noob here, not sure which shop is "Ah Beng" I assume it is the one on the Left?
  11. Bro Ah Chris, did you just went to Iwarna yesterday (Tuesday)? Tot i saw someone like you, LOL.
  12. Hi Bro andtsg, I tot theres only 3 LFS at Pasir Ris farmway? 1 on the left when we come in frm Pasir Ris dr 3, the one with the Arowana statue at the gate and Iwarna, can advise where's the fourth? thanks Bro!
  13. Oic, maybe that's explains it... But I slightly seeing them more, I suppose that should be a good thing. Thanks for your advise bro! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks Bro Pacman, Do you think I should establish a light regime asap?
  15. Dear Bros, I'm currently having a 2 x 1.5 x 1.5, just went through the cycling process and had a mini diatom bloom in the midst as well. With the tank cycled and did a 40% to remove No3, I went to buy a pair of Banggai Cardinal as the first residents in my tank. However, I realised that they are always hiding among the rocks and seldom swing around the tank as I would love them to. Is it normal for them to behave this way, or is that something that I need to do? At the moment i think they are eating fine, and one of them only tend to swim out when i off the room light at night. I haven't started a lighting regime for the tank yet, as I'm camping to change my lights and there no corals in the tank yet. Any Bros can advise? thanks alot in advance!
