  1. not sure how any of these skimmers can be good value, they are all crap. Best to get something decent.
  2. Hard to vote as all the skimmers mentioned are crap. Get a quality skimmer as it will pay for itself in the long run. Most of these cheap skimmers wont skim very well after a few months.
  3. Nothing special about the NLS food, its all great marketing. Been feeding it for 3 months and have not noticed anything special.
  4. it looks like the new zeovit skimmer. zeovit skimmers
  5. I believe the Deltec has an advantage over the ATI skimmer because the water is recirculating so you will get better skimming. With the ati skimmer the water goes in then out so it does not stay in the skimmer as long as the Deltec skimmer. It would be interesting to see a recirculating ati skimmer.
  6. IKS is made in germany
  7. i have used a sulphur reactor for over 6 years and found them to work very well, very under rated as they are excellent. have your tested your po4 coming out of the reactor?? i found that it removes po4 also.
  8. Having used t5s for over 5 years i agree with Fauna Marin that T5 tubes will loose a lot of spectrum within 6 months. I have used almost every tube on the market and find that most tubes will use loose the spectrum. When t5s firts came out they were suppose to last 5 years , this was all marketing hype. T5s will run for 2 yrs plus but the big thing is the spectrum loss after 6 months. I find that some SPS corals dont do as well after 8-9 months. I dont see the big deal about the chart anyway as they dont mean much to me and find the best way is to try the bulb out. Has anyone heard of t6 bulbs? i understand these are going to be better than t5s.
  9. how big is your tank?? if using vodka i would start of with 5ml. increase by 1ml a day. test the nitrate after 2 weeks and start reducing dose by 1ml a day once the nitarte starts to drop, dont go over 30ml of vodka. it takes about 4 weeks to get the nitrate to zero.
  10. Air freight is also a big factor. long way to come as we get most stock from indo. Indo is only down the road for you. so lucky. Which LFS did you go to??
  11. any update on these xreef skimmers.
  12. Try Aquanet in New zealand CCG. www.aqua.net.nz
  13. Alkalinity should be high, around 12 dKH or about 4.5 meq/L feedback from hobbyist in germany has shown that KH that high could cause RTN. Why have it that high when the ocean is ony 2.5 meg/l.
