  1. Think fishes should be ok, but LPS may suffer a little. I know a madman who put a tunze 6060 in a 2ft cube, some LPS tissue were torn off
  2. Look like a Goniopora, does not look red to me at all tho. Something about counting the number of petals ... better let someone else answer
  3. Since its only in its 2nd day, I think you should just leave it to run during its cycle. Don worry about parameters until the cycle is complete. When you do the 50-80% water change, all will be fine. Meanwhile, read up as much as you can from the Forum, it has lots of useful info.
  4. Singapore tap water quality already exceeds WHO standards I think. Must have drunk a ton during NS and still pass my annual medical checkup. Don't think you have to worried la...
  5. how high is your phosphate level? 1ppm? i've been using dechlorinated tap water ever since I started, no big problem. if you wanna try macroalgae to help to cut down on phosphate, ask in the pasa malam section, people might just give you ... just like before
  6. Rowa ran out once, so I tried it, not bad. Absorb phosphate slowly, since SPS cannot take sudden changes, steady drop in phosphate is better for them. Rowa is good, but I prefer slower absorbing and cheaper ones like purephos so I can change more often.
  7. Had this problem once, an old timer told me high temperature is due to use of high wattage pumps and the surrounding temp. So I change my pumps to low watt ones and shifted my tank to a cool windy place. shld help, try...

  11. Thanks Kominato & astroboy .... Read oreadi. My wife bought a book from Kino*** (some Japanese bookshop) as additional bed time story Maybe go 4 or 5 feets tank. Is there any reliable and cheap tankmaker? One stop shopping solution also can ... save all the trouble since my car is in the shop and I hate public transport what is marine language?
  12. Hi guys, Nelson here, new to the hobby. Been bugged to start a marine tank by my wife for a while, had to relent or feel the wrath of a woman .... Anyways, been reading up a bit, but still a little unsure how to go about. My idea is to get it right first time round, so here goes: 1) How big a tank should I get? 2) Should I go fish-only first to 'break-in' the tank before going corals? 3) How important is lightings? 4) How much money do I have to spend on a decent setup?
