  1. Go to Http://www.marineaquariumadvice.com and look in the library. You will find the most comprehensive series on Cryptocaryon irritans available. It is a five part series that should answer all of your questions. There is also another article on using garlic (not the most dependable method). Cheers, Terry B
  2. Shoelevy, Yes, most fish do have internal worms, but they don't cause a problem unless someting else weakens the fish. In this case, the fish may need to eat more frequently. Plankton feeders should be fed several times a day in small amounts. It is also possible for fish to comsume a high calorie count and still be starving to death. If the fish is not getting the right kinds of foods and fed often enough then it is not getting proper nutrition. This problem may not show up until you have had a particular specimen for some time. Follow this link to the library on my Website for an article that may help you and your fish: http://www.marineaquariumadvice.com/feed_y...ish_better.html Cheers, Terry B
  3. I am trying to learn more about it myself. Here is a link to a thread with someone that does know a lot about it. http://www.marineaquariumadvice.com/forum/...der=asc&start=0 HTH, Terry B
  4. I thought that you might find this link to a five part series on Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans) helpful. The only consistently reliable treatments for ich are copper, hyposalinity, or the transfer method. Everything else is hit or miss at best. Here is the link to part one: http://www.marineaquariumadvice.com/aquarium_fish_1.html HTH, Terry B
  5. What antibioitcs are available to you? Furanace, or Furanase (has alternate spelling), Maracyn-Two, Furacyn (nitrofurazone), Neomycin, Spectogram. Do you quarantine all new fish for 3+ weeks before adding them to your display tank? Do you think that your fish may have ich? Cheers, Terry B
  6. If you follow this link you will find a comprehensive series of articles on ich. http://www.marineaquariumadvice.com/aquarium_fish_1.html HTH, Terry B
  7. If you go to my Website you will find six articles on caring for mandarins. They are in two series, one is two parts and the other is four parts (Synchiropus splendidus). You can find them in the library at http://www.marineaquariumadvice.com Cheers, Terry B
  8. I am new here so I hope it is OK to post links. I thought you might appreciate a link to some articles that I wrote on the subject of Cryptocaryon irritans (ich). http://www.marineaquariumadvice.com/aquarium_fish_1.html Cheers, Terry B
  9. I thought you might appreciate a link to a three part series that I wrote about HLLE. It was previously published in FAMA magazine and you can find it in my library at: http://www.marineaquariumadvice.com/hypoth...ne_erosion.html Cheers, Terry B
