  1. Thanks for all the SMS. Tank is reserved and is scheduled for collection this Thursday Chiller will be available for sale should someone want to disconnect and remove the same day
  2. Having kept marine tanks for around 25 years, with a new job which involves extensive travelling, it has become impossible for me to continue looking after and keeping the corals in pristine conditions. Already these past couple of months I have seen a slight deterioration in some corals and don’t want it to progress further. Therefore whilst I am in town for the next couple of weeks I have decided to try to sell off the tank. From memory: Tank is custom 48” x 27” x 24” with low iron front panel, overflow, sump etc. Eheim 1264 return pump 2 x Lumenarc 3 Min Stealth 250W DE 2 x 54W T5 (+ I think I have one more double 54w tube unit) Calcium reactor with 3 gas bottles(needs new tubing) 1 x Tunze Stream 9 or 12000 lit/hr 1 x Tunze TS12 1 x Vortec MP40 1 x Votrec MP 40, that just went pop, so might need a new power supply or controller. Reef Octopus DDNW-250-6540 Live rock, a tank full of SPS and a few other corals, 1 big clam, 1 small clam etc Powder blue tang Atlantic tang Blue tang Yellow tang Purple tang Filefish Big Maroon clown So I am looking for someone interested to take the complete set up in one go. Looking for a token donation of say S$500 for all That means buyer collects, dismantles and removes in one go, without mess. The tank is chilled by a Chill-Down chiller, Mitsubishi Starmex with cooling coil. If buyer is interested this can be included for an additional S$500 neg. I think this is a seriously good deal and the fish expect a good new owner who will take care of them Please don’t ask for individual items as I neither have the time not inclination to dismantle bit by bit Serious buyers can SMS me on 97761098 Was unable to upload a photo, so if interested let me have an e-mail address and i can send a photo
  3. Sorry not enough info to suggest. You give an open ended question. Suggest you do a search on lighting But basically the colour goes from high par white 10000K to lower PAR Blue at 20000K They will all work, just depends on how many lights you have, what wattage and how deep you tank is and if you want a white, blue or anything in between. And if you still dont know, get the cheapest!
  4. SE, DE, 250W, 400W, 10,000K, 12000K,1400K, 20000K ??????? All good, just depends what you want to keep and do
  5. If you have doubts about the 850, go ask USA or UK reefers. www.reefcentral.com or www.ultimatereef.co.uk Go ask on the Deltec forum on the USA reefcentral site, get some opinions, not just mine. Like you said, excellent reviews. This skimmer only get these reviews for a reason.
  6. Deltec 850 can easily cope with your tank size. Cant beat a wide tall reaction chamber
  7. Check out some internet searches for lower back pain. lots of info and advice available, its helpful in understanding what is going on. As Gouldion says, everyone has thier own preference. Surgery should be the last resort
  8. No problem to let a Chiro treat your back a few times. Suggest you think carefully before letting him loose with his hands around your neck. Do an internet search about the risks first. For some people who have back problems, Chiro may work, but it is manipulation of the bone not the muscles. You may also consider an oesteopath which as far as i can see combines some physio/chiro. With respect regarding physio, this treats the source by gentle manipulation, regaining the movement etc. Its proven stuff, not an overnight fix. If the disc is badley damaged, bulging and impinging a nerve, the MRI will show this and an orthopedic specialist will be able to advise a suitable course of treatment. Chiro is not the best course of action here. Be careful, i know after 2 spinal(neck) fusion operations. Now i have a lower back problem, i gave First chiro a chance. They took an x-ray, told me its subluxations(what!!!) and a course of $$$$$$$$ will solve the problem. I tried a few times, max manipulation was 60 sec - oh, thats enough for today, come back in 2 days and pay another $80 please. I got more relief from a chinese massage shop(the type that massages the feet etc etc and not other parts!) and streching excerises.
  9. Found it a waste of money. $80 for a 60 second session. They try to sign you up for long term treatment and tell you a lot of bull about what is wrong. Go see an Orthopaedic specialist and let them make the best suggestion depending on your condition.
  10. No change on the red algae from the switch from 10 to 14K. The 14K BLV is really white and bright, certainly as bright as the 10K, but whiter. Still early days, but i have the same corals under both the Phoenix and BLV(same colony), at the mpment the Phoenix has the edge on colour.
  11. BLV 14000K is very white, no blue on my pendants, the Phoenix is blue or blue white depending on the ballast. Switched from BLV 10,000K and cant say either had any effect on algae and my tank is covered in red algae
  12. Well, day by day the tank looks worse. Since starting up the tank again 2 years ago its been a constant battle against byopsis, mantis shrimps and now red algae(as well as moving). When you solve one problem a worse one come to light. With my constant and regular overseas trips, i an begining to wonder if it really worth all the stress. Perhaps fill the tank with extra live rock, ditch the sps and just go back to a mixed tank which will certainly be less critical to keep
  13. I have seen the sander no 1 wooden air diffusers in many shops. I am looking for a bigger size or a ceramic diffuser along the lines of the sweetwater fine pore diffusers. Any one know where to get? Needed for skimmer upgrade
  14. RAV-65 Sorry, but you dont need a PAR meter to say what is whiter, yellower ,bluer or visually brighter. No offence taken. I ran a side by side test on my 2 pendents thet clearly showed that its whiter and brighter than the 10000k If you look at the thread on Dr Evil's forum you can see even the figures from BLV show slightly higher lumens for the 14000K over the 10000K. There is a big difference in PAR between the mogul and DE 10000K XM bulbs, the mogal is whiter and brighter. Perhaps the DE BLV 14000K is close to the XM mogul 10000K? You cannot compare the Phoenix or the Hamilton 14000K to the BLV 14000K, i have used both these and the colour difference is significant.
