  12. I notice that the Jocs you have are of similar size which maybe the issue why you are failing because 2 similar size fishes will definately have higher chance of challenging to the death if both parties refuse to back down. In angelfish pairing, I noticr that the "submissive behavior" is very critical.
  13. I have paired many species of dwarf (Jocs, Potter, Interruptus, hybrid flames, Argi, Acanthops) some even having a harem of them. Never faced any issues at all before and to me dwarfs seems so much easier to pair compared to their large cousins. Nv had any experiences in pairing surgeon fish and I have only kept blue, hybrid powder blue, jewel, black, gem tang, Tomini and White tail before and alot of them when i purchase them at 50cent coin size are very cute but grow so quickly that I have to sell them after awhile.
  14. You will be surprise, pairing dwarf angel are downright easy as long as there is a difference in size. For similar size, it depends whether the female will submit to the male. You will notice submissive behavior when the female arc and bend the body and the male swims near it. Some female are downright aggressive and thats when you have serious problem. Below are some old photos of my Joc pair
  15. Ich are a problem since ornamental fish started so its always a dilemma for the lfs. Dilemma in the sense whether to use copper or not in their system as copper are hard to rid once applied and can be deadly if not test or checked. Certain fishes like angelfish are more sensitive to copper and to avoid as much as possible. However, if copper not used, to ensure that newly arrived tangs do not succumb to ich or velvet is almost impossible and its definitely more pleasing to the eyes of anyone coming to a shop to see fishes free of any ich compare to a shop where fishes show discoloration, flaking or scrubbing behavior even if spots are not notice yet. However, if copper are administered but not tested, the fishes may look "clean" on the appearance but internally, health may already be compromised.
  16. Nice Jocs and Interruptus bro. Make me miss both my spawning pairs. Sharing my long ago video.
  17. I think is not about just about the LFS also because no matter how detailed a lfs does their QT, even the best can have dead fish. Responsibility also lies in the hobbyist himself to know how to look at the overall condition of the fish, such as whether the fish is already feeding or showing sign of malnutrition such as sunken forehead, pinch stomach, skin, eyes and breathing appearance as well as behavior of fish as to whether fish is curious about its surrounding or just purely hiding in 1 corner.
  18. The bigger adults can be found in shallow reef and the younger ones are said to be found deeper but even so that is not properly documented. Most if not all fishes from hawaiian regions were caught by hand so I believe that should not be the issue and I have purchased mine from famous collector like Rufus but same result after keep them for awhile. The longest one I had was transship from Hong Kong's red Heart King which lasted a year and half and decide to jump 1 day.
  19. Bro, nice zoas frag. Btw your yellow tang look emaciated with sunken forehead. Sunken forehead is considered to be a severe stage of malnutrition. You have to buff if up asap else as its on route of no return as organs will slowly fail due to malnutrition and the fish will perish in a later stage.
  20. Nope did not cease to eat just died apparently for no reason the next day.
  21. Setup maybe cheap but content aint cheap Have kept both Bandits & Conspics before. The conspic I bought was ard 3.5 inches and was pretty much bullet proof till I sold it to another reefer. Did not have much luck with Bandits though, tried mainly the 3-4 incher ones, died after keeping for a year for no apparent reason and another just decide to carpet surf after a year or so as well.
  22. Are you based in Singapore? Do you have pictures of your setups.
  23. Yuma are a type of shroom. The ultra or whatever fancy name in front is just to create a rarity "feel" and to market a particular coral.
