  1. Help id please thank you so much
  2. My first pico reef in a Fluval spec 3 AIO tank.
  3. I suspect my Zoas have zoa pox or something. Please help me identify and tell me what medication i should get! Thanks (if possible also state the price that u know of)
  4. i recently fragged a small part of my zoa which was not attached to the base rock (outgrew probbably) it has heads on all sides so i dont know how to attach it to a rock i want to use superglue but if i do, some of the heads would die (cuz face down onto the rock glued) what should i do?
  5. I bought a green zoa colony 9 days ago. They were brilliantly opening up quite soon after I first put them in the tank. For some reason, about 3 or 4 days ago, patches of them (all on the same rock) would close, but they'll open back in a few minutes. However I noticed today and yesterday that all of them except a small handful don't open. And those that opened don't open fully. Any help? My tank is the 16L Ocean Free nano marine tank, bioloads are 1 ocellaris clownfish, 1 blue leg hermit crab, and the zoa colony. 1 hangon filter in usage. Protein skimmer in the tank set is not in use. Tank temperature: Usually 28 degress celcius

  7. Hi reefers, for those of you who keep zoas, have you guys ever experienced them being eaten/injured by amphipods? At night when I bring a light to the tank, I see the pods running around the LR, but I do also notice some of them on the zoas.... Did some googling too, mixed responses. Some say the pods are just eating microfilms of algae, detritus on the zoas surface, some say the pods can indeed eat the zoas polyps or baby zoas.. so am really hoping to get some local perspective here, do you guys have any zoas & amphipods encounters to share? Thanks in advance!
  8. Being in reefing years without my own thread, but it is the earliest when I realized it is late. Here we go! Was starting with an 2x1x1 tank for “Mixed” reef, which means I had no idea what I am doing, but shopping at LFS and Mixed everything together. I still recall I followed the golden rules at that time to change water every week, but never checked SG level or big 3 parameter when I use NSW or ready salt mix from LFS…. It only seems to be on track when I started keeping SPS, I invested Chiller, Dosing pump, rodi…. And got a 1.5 cube for SPS only, which were great success with Maxspect G2 light, and Algae scrubber, but whole tank gone after a chiller pump failure, and it became a tank of “hot coral soup”. It was very sad. Meanwhile, I had upgraded to a RSM130 (2x1.5x1.8ft), but, I have no sump tank, but 2 empty canisters used as external pump to feed FR and Chiller. Till today this setup still there and doing great, but soon will be taken down, as my new tanks are up. Just to keep some pic of my previous hero tanks. 1.5ft cube:2 year ago 2ft RSM130: 2 year ago 1 year ago
  9. Hello fellow reefers! I've recently started a 34L nano tank and I'm hoping to pick up a couple of tips from you guys. I was warned about how this hobby was a time and money suck. But one day out of nowhere, I ended up at Iwarna and bought an OF 34L IOS tank from Aunty. Now there's no turning back. I've documented my progress. This is ultimately going to be a zoa tank. DAY 1 - Live rocks (not very exciting). Here's the scape. Very nicely done up by my patient bf. I wanted to let it cycle for about a week before introducing livestock but I'm not as patient as I'd like to be. DAY 3 - Invertebrates, a clown and a wrasse. Wrapped up work and made a trip down to the only marine LFS (that I know of) open after "office hours". Bought a clownfish, a green wrasse, an RBTA, an urchin, cleaner shrimp and a 3-pack of sexy shrimp from Aquamarin. Threw in a starfish and hermit crab (originally from my bf's tank) for good measure too. Here's a sexy shrimp party that the hermit crab crashed. DAY 4 - GSP wall Got myself some GSP and BSI'd it at the back in hopes that it'll bloom into an unstoppable wall of green. Doesn't look very promising here. But I will remain optimistic. DAY 7 - Operation zoa flowerbed I decided it was time to pile in the livestock. Got myself some zoas, palys, acan, pulsing xenia, coco worm, clam, green octo coral and golden clove. Most of them here are from my bf's tank. Also, a trip down to LCK and the Pasir Ris farms can do wonders. I got a royal gramma, a couple of yumas and a one-dollar clown. I'm working towards a zoa-saturated top tier. I'll post more pictures really soon.
  10. Finally completed my Rockscape. All thanks to Mr Cool Guy. He did a fanatics job. Front View Side View *** If you lazy or no ideas on how to do a nice rockscape, I strong recommend you to Mr Cool Guy. Amazing & creative guy who can build a beautiful rockscape.
  11. I hardly see anyone talk about this common soft coral. It's an interesting yellow polyps coral to me but somehow this fella always disappear in my tank after some time. Can anyone advise how to keep this successfully? Thanks.

  16. Day 2 of my setup : Didnt have time yesterday to take a picture, hence took in this morning and decided to start a thread here to keep track of my tank and receiving feedbacks. 17. Help is needed from all reefers. Attackers sent from hell have desended in my tank. First the Zoas, then later everything else. Grey polyps have spread among my zoas colonies and the rocks. The advancing enemies are too strong for me. I need help from you, reefers. Your experience, ideas, and reinforcement would help me fend off the deadly stars, sent from Satan. The counter attack will begin soon, with your help. I will show you the enemies first ( next page, captured by reconnaisance i phone ). mike
