Sengreef, those are really wonderful shots of the corals. Are you able to share your settings for white balance, aperture, ISO and shutter speed for your photographs?

Tank: 3.5ft x 2ft x 1.5ft, 12mm

Sump: 3ft

Skimmer: Bubble Magus Curve 7

To be frank I see many photographers with impressive tons of equipment take photos in auto mode. Haha.

To be frank also, not too worry about the type of lenses too much. The raw photos from the lenses itself is not at all impressive without going through some pre-processing by the camera firmware or post processing. Different lenses can even give you different colors due to different coatings. Haha.

Depending on what you are photgraphing.

You can take very nice picture with normal lens also.

I am using the kit lens 18-55 for most of my tank shot.

I will only use my 180 macro when I need to shot marco

Canon brand, 100mm f2.8 macro used to be around $700 few years back (brand new). Pasar malam probably sell around $400-$500.

Combined with Kenko macro extension is super good for macro.
