SRC Member clownfish_forever Posted August 21, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted August 21, 2012 Hi brothers, A quick question. I am wondering if anyone has tried gluing a coral colony to rock using gel? I guess for frag gel works well but what about corals that comes attached to base rock. I am hoping to avoid epoxy because it made my skimmer so crazy for 1 - 2 weeks before... Thank you Quote Regards,JeffAquarium: 48" x 18" x 24" tank with 24" x 15" x 15" sump (approx. 150 gallons)Equipment: Maxspect Razor 320W, Vortech MP40, Vertex Omega 180i, Eheim 1262 return pump, Hailea HS 66A, Bacteria KingFish and coral food: Henry's Reefgourmet pellets, Preis coral energizer, Kent Marine PhytoPlex, Brightwell Reef Snow, Two-Little Fishies Marine SnowDosage: Triton Elements

SRC Member clownfish_forever Posted August 21, 2012 Author SRC Member Share Posted August 21, 2012 Actually that only time I used epoxy wasnt very successful too. Maybe I didnt do it right - after I stick a leather coral, I regreted after a week so I decided to move it somewhere...surprisingly I only pulled lightly and it got detached ...lol Quote Regards,JeffAquarium: 48" x 18" x 24" tank with 24" x 15" x 15" sump (approx. 150 gallons)Equipment: Maxspect Razor 320W, Vortech MP40, Vertex Omega 180i, Eheim 1262 return pump, Hailea HS 66A, Bacteria KingFish and coral food: Henry's Reefgourmet pellets, Preis coral energizer, Kent Marine PhytoPlex, Brightwell Reef Snow, Two-Little Fishies Marine SnowDosage: Triton Elements

SRC Member starfish123 Posted August 22, 2012 SRC Member Share Posted August 22, 2012 when you talk about 2part epoxy is it the homefix one or the marine coral epoxy? because the homefix one when it cures usually heats up before turning hard so it might melt the corals.
