Keeping nitrates low on a simpless nano

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.... I've for a 34L nano running in iOS, just restarted and now gg through cycling again..

In order to keep nitrates and phosphates low, besides weekly wc, I was thinking of getting a clear HOB filter with two compartments... one will have Cheetos and the other, an algea scrubber...there will be a separate led light which is less than 10000k focusing at theHOB filter. I presume that inside the hob compartments, there should be enough flow to grow Cheetos and the algea will automatically grow in the scrubber. anyone has any thoughts on this? need advise. thanks:)

Anyways for systems running on IOS i use spongr as a mechanical filter ... I heard that if the sponge is not cleaned, will become nitrate factory and cause algae .. How often do I have to clean the sponge? can wash with tap water? Thx
