Especially for big drums like 60l and 120l.. For Easy transport So the whole Sat 8 Nov was spent transferring the livestocks from holding tank to New tank. SRC Member kenyee Posted November 22, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted November 22, 2014 Nice rimless reef tank..r u running 2 skimmers? :-) Something to note, ur filter sock got no holder n it too high up beyond ur sump tank height. water might overflow out if the filter sock get choked. Go diy a cover to cover the filter sock as there is water mist when water & air flow down.. Cheers and happy reefing Quote @ 291213 Updated video: Kenyee FOWLR http://m.youtube.com/my_videos
SRC Member PowderTang Posted November 22, 2014 Author SRC Member Share Posted November 22, 2014 Yes 2 skimmers Yes no holder as there are filter wool bottom to hold the sock Maybe can place some wool above the sock for the cover
SRC Member kenyee Posted November 22, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted November 22, 2014 Ok dun see the need to run 2 skimmers..waste electricity, produce more heat, need to clean 1 more skimmer..as for the filter sock, avoid the mouth of the sock from protruding out of the tank..u won't know when water might overflow out..btw, can share what return pump u using? SRC Member PowderTang Posted November 22, 2014 Author SRC Member Share Posted November 22, 2014 Wanna aerate the water to reduce pH drop as every occurred in my 3 ft before Return pump is 10,000 l/h aquazonic which is using 85w I think
tofubox
Nice tank! Agreed, can skip the small skimmer, and lower the height of filtersock. Filtersock overflow is very common and happens to me all the time, but since mine is way below the sump height, just overflows back to sump. Keep the sump simple. And u will have much easier time cleaning it, and visually more pleasing for yourself. Quote I Love Stagsss

sherman
Nice FTS ,SIS. One skimmer more then enough. And be careful of filter sock overflow. SRC Member Angel Keeper Posted November 22, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted November 22, 2014 Hmmmm... Everyone seems to be encouraging only one skimmer... Maybe you should take their advice... But I would have to agree on their observation of your filter sock... Seems like a recipe for disaster... Angel Keeper

magical26
Hi Powder Tang Just to check, there seems to be only 1 center beam in the front of the cabinet stand. Is there any center beam at the back portion of the cabinet? Would that be a cause for concern in the long run? Just asking, I may be wrong cos I am not an engineer. SRC Member PowderTang Posted November 23, 2014 Author SRC Member Share Posted November 23, 2014 No there isn't any centre beam at the back and it's mainly covered at the back so not necessary I think Front centre Beam is for support due to the opening for the doors
