Hi, starting this thread to know things and experience on certain coral from experienced reefer here, will be helpful for new people like me..

Posting thing I heard or read of these coral here.. senior reefer help out with more practical things..

Good:

Colourful hardy beginner coral, grows well.

Easy to feed. Don't sting other corals..(i guess), can be propagated.

Bad:

Poisonous coral, can spread fast and over take other coral.

May have some zoas based pest, which eats it- so caution on valuable purchase..

Ugly:

dont get anything like that...

Will it host clownfish? dont know.. :(

Good:

As far as I followed in this forum, pricing varies depending in the variety,, from few dollars to double digit polyps..

So starters can also afford to enjoy some zoas in there tank..

Can withstand higher nutrient and less susceptive to parameter swings.

Does not require high lighting

Plenty of variation, can form your own "garden" with many varieties

Rare and exquisite ones can command very high resale value

May have some zoas based pest, which eats it- so caution on valuable purchase..

As mentioned, poisonous and should be handled with care and caution, spilling hot water on these guys will cause hell.

Ugly:

Some Zoas look great under artinic/uv lighting, but look horrible in day light (6-10k spectrum)

Hmm.. think I got some ideas.

Here goes.. Another perceptive way of viewing.

Good: Colourful reef tank and its the patience you will cultivate.

Bad: Poision in SPS and Zoas. They make your pockets burnt with no mercy. Take caution when u view. Once its start to burnt, its gonna be non~stop.

Ugly: When things goes wrong. You might left with nothing.

Reefing is sharing. People with rotten mouth is sure a loser for life as expected. When a tomato gets rotten, you can nvr save it.. Throw it away before it infect the good ones.
