Yellow Tang Missing within One Day

Hi everyone,

I've recently setup my marine tank about 4 weeks ago and put a yellow tang into the tank last weekend. Yesterday when I reached home after work, I reliased that the yellow tang has gone missing. It didn't appear at the feeding time (usually evening). Normally it would come and eat the mysis. I've searched for it for hours (rocks and sand beds) but no sign of the fish (no even the fish bone). Feeling very upset about the disappearance of yellow tang. 

Have you encountered such situation before? Is the fish dead already? Any advice? Thank you.

The yellow tang should be dead and eaten up by cuc.. If it is a wrasse or slim fish maybe it's in sand bed..

Have searched the floor near the fish tank too..Didn't see it...Probably it is dead  Hope other fishes will be okay and not affected...

Do you have a coral banded shrimp? My purple fire fish was stripped down to bones in a day by this shrimp.

this is shocking..may I know how big is ur yellow tang? maybe u can share with us a pic of ur tank too.. 4 weeks tank shd not have many livestocks ba..

Any large rocks with huge holes? Maybe it's a bobbit worm eating your fish?

I once have a yellow tang die between the glass of the overflow , they love to hide in tiny cramp and suicide

Have u looked between gaps and underneath rocks? YT with their slim body shapes tend to squeeze into tight spaces. Same for hippo blue tang.
