I have the same experience with ich. From my understanding from other reefers just opinions that removing fishes with ich is dangerous. They got ich partly because of stress bringing them out will increase stress. The internet always say to bring it out and use copper to cure but maybe i just put in qurantine tank for too short only about 2 weeks. After i put back to main tank, it just died the next day happen to 3 fishes of mine.
They suggested me to buy food n drip garlic into food to build up the fish immune against the ich. If there is ich in main tank this probably means there is already ich in the tank very hard to remove all. My latest blue tang has ich the next day i intro to my main tank and i just use the above method to build its immune. Now the fish with me for few weeks with ich subsidies after one week n now no more ich.
Hope it helps.

I quite agree with what you said, but my other experience also that when I don't remove the fish with lch, the eggs drop and reattached to other fishes and infect all the fishes.
My personal best belief now is that if I got fish with lch, I will put it in isolation on second properly set up tank with FOWLR set up. Than do what you suggested in garlic.

Yeah i think quarantine to works have to be longer period. Since you have successfully cure it, is it because you put them for a long time? Wish to learn too coz if this problem not solve will not dare to buy any expensive fish lol.

Polylab Medic is the only medicine that I know will not affect reef.
Now whenever I add new fishes to the tank, I will dose it 2 times per day for continuously 7 to 14 days as a precautionary measure.
It is basically H2O2 in a safe form, don't throw directly into the display tank as the fishes may eat it thinking it's food.
