Hi reefers,

Came back from long holiday to find my tank's kH had fallen to 5.7 (Ca is 400).

But all the corals - incl Acros - are fine. Growing and no colour/tissue loss.

Am wondering if kH is as important as people make it out to be.

How long can u go?

Maybe ur tank is mature and stable. I came back from almost 2 weeks holiday and dKH dropped from 9 to 6.8. 3 corals STN (which one RIP eventually)

If your KH drop is gradually and no spike I believe there is no immediate damage.

But for long run I not sure any damage might occur
