Blue sponge

Was it exposed to air during the purchase process or when you transferred it into your tank? They shouldn’t be exposed to air as air will get trapped in its body cavity, & that can kill the sponge

Blue sponges only has one exchange “hole”. This hole functions as both a mouth to ingest nutrients, and anus to excrete waste. That being said, too strong a flow will hinder it from performing it’s basic functions. Make sure it’s in a low flow area with mid tiered lighting
