Advice on HDB Tank Size Limit

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I will be getting a 4 by 3 by 2 tank soon from a kind hobbyist, and would like to get advice on government regulations on such tanks. As far as I know, a standard 4 by 2 by 2 will need a permit, however this info was found in old threads in websites such as Arofanatics. I've been looking for some time but I can't really find any official links set up by HDB, and any links in old threads cannot be found. Have any of you guys had to get a permit for your large tanks? Thank you:)

I have seen tanks bigger than 4 feet and some with many many (pun intended) 4 feet and above tanks. I don’t think there’s any issue with just one or two tank.

No need permit as far as I know. I've seen double-deck 6-footer  b4.

Just have to find place it above load-bearing beam. U will need to find out from HDB or town council where the beams are.

4x3x2 is no joke. U need to chk area clearance. Not many hdb can take.it. Have seen 6x2x2(friend need to get ppl to tear down inside the unit), 10ft, etc. Nothing happen, all happy, otherwise will have lots of issue. Safety to u and others is very important. 4x2x2 is a general guide and for marine with overflow, it will be x 1.5 at least ..notwithstanding the density is higher in marine. Can understand the passion but advice to you is also to think on the removal part...is a killer also...unless money not an issue.
