王曼綺
Hi. I was told by my tank maker that for a 5ft x 2.5ft x 20inch tank, i will require a 15mm glass. However when i did a search on this forum, even the 6 footers are using 12mm and i also crossed checked with the aquatools website calculator, it says this size requires 8mm thickness. So am i right to say 15mm thickness is not necessary? Thanks.

SRC Member soggycookies Posted March 19, 2019 SRC Member Share Posted March 19, 2019 For a 4ft I wouldn’t worry with 12mm glass. Anything large than that, I wouldn’t risk it.. 15mm for peace of mindSent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
ramvenga85
I have a 3ft x 2.5ft x 20 inches marine tank and i use 15 mm glass as it is rimless. No bending/warping glass walls so peace of mind..Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

As tank builder's recommendation will be what they should be responsible if the tank wall warp and breakdown.
