Drip acclimate

Hi fellow reefers,

Just wanna know what your thoughts on drip acclimate process. Been diligently doing drip acclimate for new arrivals but find it counter intuitive as temp cannot match DT temp after drip for 1hr as sg temp too hot.

so far i no longer drip acc for corals and no issue yet.

trying on inverts several times also ok, but i measure salinity to ensure it match. Haven try on fish yet though.

right now i just float bag 30mins to match temp then immediately throw inside DT.

Any thoughts?

Had tried both drip and 50% tank water acclimation methods. For the former, I put into sump and clip on the side wall. Air tube with multiple knobs from DT to slow down flow rate. Care to be taken for overflow of shipping water into sump using this method even needle valve is employed. Just sharing my way.

I use drip acclimation for fish and invert. I will float the bag for 45 min then normally only drip for 30 min.

For me I focus on the drip rate, for fish water must increase at least 70%, invert is 100%.

Temp different wise, I think is ok unless got different by > 1 degree

If u don't do acclimation then u fish will shock if ur PH and SG is different from the LFS.
