SRC Member soggycookies Posted May 19, 2020 SRC Member Share Posted May 19, 2020 Day 12 update Most of the gha on top of the rocks have gone. Very little left. However the gha on the underside of the rock for some reason still very long. Have ordered another bottle and plan to do a water change and add more to replace the lost medication. So far its been quite effective. besides the GHA dying down, do you notice(if any) changes in the growth of other algae in your tank? like regular green film etc. completely absent after treatment. haven’t used fluconazole but my experience with vibrant has been that it certainly works with less pesky algaes but stuff like GHA/bubble algae is a many-pronged approach to fully deal with. there isn’t a miracle cure imo, but the chemical treatments definitely make a large dent. SRC Member Clement Chen Posted May 21, 2020 Author SRC Member Share Posted May 21, 2020 Day 15 update Most of the algae on top of the rocks are gone. However there are quite a lot of algae still on the underside of the rocks. Have done a 20% water change and manually remove those algae under the rocks. Have redose a partial amount of fluconazole. Shall check in after a few days to see if there are any changes. SRC Member Clement Chen Posted May 28, 2020 Author SRC Member Share Posted May 28, 2020 Day 21 the last day of treatment. Overall hair algae on the top of the rocks are mostly gone. However there are still some algae that are short. Not sure if it is a different type of algae. Hopefully CB ends soon and livestock are back for sale so can get a tang to do the rest of the clean up. Done a test after with hanna phosphorus test kit and salifert nitrate. Nitrates less den 5ppm Phosphate 0.285ppm Not too bad. Expected more due to the algae die offs. Have started the skimmer back. And turned on gfo and carbon reactor. Here are the photos. SRC Member Clement Chen Posted June 2, 2020 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 2, 2020 Some full tank shots. All hair algae is finally gone. Very happy with the results. some suggestion is to let the medication be in the water a few days more. No need to change water so quickly. 1 Quote Clem's Clam Corner (Decommed) 60cm x 40cm x 30cm Tank Nano tank reboot v2.

SRC Member Clement Chen Posted August 30, 2020 Author SRC Member Share Posted August 30, 2020 Have added a Illumagic vitamini 3ft super atinic from reefmarketsg. Got a nice bro to help me take the PAR measurements. Tested some points with the vitamini strip on and off and the difference is about 70 PAR. Here are the overall readings for the whole tank with the vitamini strip on.
