OMG! Look at these hybrids and rare fishes!

Recommended Posts

Depending in the degree of yellow and the region it is from. If it is from usual Philippines or indo shipment. It might not be a tigerpyge.. although a few specimen is exported from bali... So a better photo is a must. From the photo it looks very yellow but it is due to the lighting that it is under.. adjust your camera wb..

Haha, Cos the lighting looks yellowish.. Hehe.. But on closer look, it does have the blue iris and blue ring round the eye..

Did you got it as a hybrid or a normal Eibli?

Hope you right... I wanna give to you if i go to singapore, and hope you wanna sell your interuptus angel to me.. Coz im realy need interuptus. Hahaha... Peace

It is a tigerpye definitely, though not as impressive as the tigerpyge that went to US as the intensity of the yellow is not as strong.

Tigerpyge is quite variable if u look at the pics in kiyoshi endoh's Angelfish book. It features quite a few tigerpyge ranging from very impressive looking to a dull greenish yellow form.

Tigerpyge has been appearing w a bit more regularity (HK, US, Taiwan all got them recently) but it is still very rare.

Btw it is a hybrid of indian ocean lemonpeel and eibli angel.

Rare deepwater grouper: Epinephelus morrhua (Japan)

With the equally if not rarer Lubricogobius Exiguus.

Amazing interactions. Wonder how the gobies will fare once the other fish gets big enough. :D

Always something more important than fish.

Synonymous. Same fish i think.

Epinephelus morrhua and E. radiatus are often confused and are part of the same species complex = close relatives, but not synonymous. This species complex also includes two additional species, E. poecilonotus and E. tuamotuensis. All are quite similar Indo-Pacific groupers from fairly deep water. I'm no specialist on this group, but the series of photos with the Lubricogobius certainly look like juvenile E. radiatus to me. In comparison, these are juvenile E. morrhua:
