hi all,

i know the usual method to attach mushroom frags is to place them in a container with crushed coral substrate for them to attach but some of mine still refuse to attach after many months... i've read some people super glue gel their fraggings onto rocks.

just wanna check if anyone has done it before and if there was any casulty? thanks!

Hi Bro,

I had done it but with no sucesss. No casualty but the mushroom detach after nextday,... i'm using commercial type of super glue (and it wont harm to coral, acording to some article). Anyway, after try for a few round but still no success. if you are able to do it, don't mind, i would like to know the method as well.

I dried the live rock and base of mush room (still slimy even try to dry it). drop a super glue on both site and attached.

thanks,

miketeo

it's very hard to glue mushrooms down because they're slimy, and they have the ability to detach themselves after the glue dries.

what is important is placement must be good, they must like the spot, for them to attach themselves to the debris.

another way is to "hold" the mushroom down with netting covering the rock+mush LOOSELY, or use rubber band..

okay i tried super glueing 5 mushrooms yesterday and placed them in a spot w/ not much water movement. but this morning they all detached....

i'm trying another method now, similar to netting / rubber banding. but i'm quite lazy to handle each mushroom individually. so lets see if this works and if it does, i'll post it up soon. =)
