been trying to breed brine shrimps... but failing.

my tools: a big green tea plastic bottle... with holes for air and stuff..

method:

3/4 filled with seawater from my tank..

1 spoon of brine shrimp eggs..

strong air pump..

i place the bottle hanging in my balcony under direct sunlight..

can anyone advise me what steps are wrong or what is the correct steps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Supply of air bubbles shouldn't be too rapid. Approx. 1 bubble per second is enough. And you don't need sunlight. My guess -> flow is too strong and temp too hot.

You mean hatching brine shrimp cysts? Make sure the aeration is strong enough to keep all cysts suspended. Cysts that clump in one corner will not hatch. If your cysts are new they should hatch fine. If they have been opened and kept in storage at room temperature without refigeration they might have gone bad. Aeration is very important. I use a 12W air pump just to hatch brine shrimp. :whistle

Always something more important than fish.

I do have succeed hatched brine (artemia) cysts. But it (nauplii) last for 5 to 7 days then they perished. Is it norm? Can it grow adult to be brine shrimp? Sorry new in this field.

you have to feed them and at the same time, change out the water in portions.

So what kind of food that such a small baby eat? and what the proportion of water change?

I use fresh saltwater. I don't use water from my tank.

No wonder, had been using my own tank water but lowered down the sg at 1.020. Could it be microbes condition of water?
