Test Culturing of Copepod..

Using Reef Pods from FuEl..

Go slow on the bubbling (1 bubble per 1-2 secs will suffice), as well as the feeding.

If you want to know the species of copepod, it is Tisbe biminiensis.

Always something more important than fish.

Yup, the bubbling is very slow... I am keeping one without bubbling just in case...

Will go read more on the species...

Update on the pods...

Aerated Vs Un-aerated containers

Un-aerated one have noticeable increase in number of pods compared to 1st day, not sure if they reproduce this fast.. But I can see more of them now...

Aerated one is somewhat still stagnant population, dun see a increase...

So lesson learnt, no aeration is better for small volume of pod culture...

As for the biggest container, very little also...

I am giving about 1ml phyto daily... So far so good...

Sorry, no photo becos no good camera.. LOL...

It all boils down to the copepod species you would be culturing. Most copepods sold for aquarium use are harpacticoid copepods (benthic). Little or no aeration would be better for them as they need the food particles to sink/settle in order to feed on them.

On the other hand, calanoid copepods (pelagic) like Acartia tonsa require aeration as they need their food items to be suspended in the water column in order to feed.

Always something more important than fish.

Hi guys.. My pods actually eats brine shrimps. Some of them quite big, able to pull a brine shrimp away from my dropper.

If i able to add in some tiger pods then huat huat already..

What are the difference on tiger pods? More nutritious for fishes?

Reefing is sharing. People with rotten mouth is sure a loser for life as expected. When a tomato gets rotten, you can nvr save it.. Throw it away before it infect the good ones.
