  4. Hi Bro, The correct parameters based from the article I read are as follows: PH should be between 8.1 ~ 8.3 Alkalinity between 7~11 dKH. I am still on my 6th day cycling the tank and will keep monitoring water parameters. Based from this article: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-03/rhf/#9 "if the pH is above 8.5 and the alkalinity is not above 4 meq/L, then the aquarium is not fully equilibrated with carbon dioxide in the air." But my alkalinity is above 4 meg/L, so i'm still reading more on this. For alkalinity, I will start doing 5% water changes and continue to monitor. Hope anyone can also provide inputs on this.

  5. Ok... Lets not be too harsh on a newbie, we are all here to learn... Yes, tangs will not solve ur hair algae issues... Try getting a good cleanup crews instead... Seahare( but they can grow quite big), Turbo snails, blue legged hermits and red legged hermits are known to help control hair algae... And i say "help"... Cos these are only temporary solutions to ur hair algae problem... Try to find the root problem on why theres a hair algae issue in your tank. I believe u have a fairly new tank and its probly still cycling or just finished cycling, which is quite common to have algae issue during this stage.... Control your nutrients level and check on your water parameters, frequent water might be all it takes to solve ur problem... Good luck
