  1. Was at Pasir Ris Farm and spotted an unusual colored variety of the firefish. It's body is black in color and its tail is light yellow. Bought it immediately at $6. Brought it home, put it in the tank, and it went straight for a small hole in the live rock. Now i got a purple firefish and a black one hiding in the live rock
  2. $8 ? I don't think you're using anything more than 25watts. might as well use sunlight. You're killing them. Read up more on these creatures. and metal halides.
  3. Usually visit the small marine shop in market ard blk 89. Sell a few basic marine necessities. Quite cheap. Sell lots of anemones. A lot of dumb people buy the anemones. Overhead the owner saying the anemone doesn't need any lighting and a buyer agrees with him. Idiots... Another shop called Darwin aquarium also in the vicinity. Has some average priced marine stuff. No livestock. The livestock at the new marine shop in bedok are tagged with a decent price. But a trip to the fish farm is recommended.
  4. IME, sounds like you have brooklynellosis, very common Clownfish disease. Most probably inherited the parasite from the lfs. Stress might have aggravate its condition.
  5. Anybody spotted fighting conch at any LFS or Fish Farms ? Cerith will do too. TIA
  6. Saw a few of them in medium size at Bedok North Market in a small lfs. Its located near Blk 89. They look kinda sad and sleepy
  7. Didn't really bothered with the isopods till these creatures found a home, parasitizing on my blue tang and a false percula. I had to net the fish and gently pry the isopod from the fish with my nail to get it off There are many more of them hiding in the liverock and some tiny ones on the sandbed. How do you get rid of them ? Any known fish or inverts that prey on them ?
  8. Mine molted on Sunday morning too. The empty shell is just beside the cleaner shrimp itself. Didn't even bother to find a hiding place to perform its molting. Anyway, if you still can't find your shrimp after a few days, then its dead. Maybe lack of iodine to complete the molting cycle
  9. Those fussy clowns don't gave a hoot to the flakes. They approach it, smell it and ignored it. Gave them frozen brine last night. They were practically smiling. My hammer corals doesn't seem to be feeding. So i shift it to a spot in the tank that received the most sunlight and then turn on the tank lights upon reaching home. And lions ??
  10. Had the same experience with my friends in South Korea. Had a hard time making out their jumbled english. Its like playing jigsaw puzzles, orally . But most of them knew english words like "World Cup" "Beckham" "England" "Hooker Hill".
  11. Alamak ! This topic suppose to be aptly placed in NEW TO MARINE AQUARIA ! Sorry !
  12. Is it okay to feed my false clowns and hammer coral freeze dried brine shrimp on weekdays ? Do they even bothered with the dried shrimps in the first place ?
  13. Probably england. I don't really know the players from Turkey that well. Not even the names.. Is hakan sukur a turk ? Probably a 2-0 win to england or turkey. I'm only watching the Italy Match
  14. Nudie festivals...paradise. Too bad i'm going with my girlfriend Heard brazillians love to eat each other. Literally.
