  3. Hi Big eye. Welcome to src.....u may wanna check out the thread here http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showforum=4 btw LoReNsIa, i think he is tryin to show us his DIYed phosphate reactor.
  4. Its highly commendable tat u r willin to take advices and not go ur own way. U may wanna invest in a proper tank setup first (tank, cabinet, sump...etc) then slowly work ur way towards sps. In the meanwhile, u can keep lps or go fowlr while savin up for equipments and the necessary. By the time u hav sav up enough to start sps, ur tank would hav more or less mature. Keepin sps is a ongoin spendin kinda of thing. So, its best for someone who is financially capable.
  5. Resize for u....dun do it nxt time or u get warning from mods
  6. As i do nt knw the size of ur tank....assumin ur tank is 650L. Changin 2 pails(assumin 18L per pail) of water (2x18L=36L) is nt even 10% of ur total volume. So, u may wanna consider changin more water instead.
  7. Its all abt wat u wan to acheive frm ur sps....For them to grow, thrive and color or juz for the sake of havin (brown, ocassional stn, rtn....). I believe ur statement "Is it really possible to keep them if i am not willing to dig out money frm my pocket????" did not apply to any of the sps keeper here tat r havin good results with their sps. Diggin out money oreadi started when u purchase them. so its up to u whether u wanna protect ur investment.
  8. Irregardless of whether ur lps reacted tis way due to ph or not. Its highly advisable to perform water changes to bring ur ph back to the normal range (assumin nuthin wrong with ur ph sensor).
  9. To knw for sure whether ur rowa has exhausted> is to perform testin of ur PO4 or when u visually notice algae startin to grow. Wat many do is to measure their existin PO4 and apply the use of phosphate remover. Over a couple of days.....measurment is taken again to chk if PO4 has reached 0. If not, more phosphate remover may need to be used. Obtainin 0 readin. Test will need to be conducted 2wks later to chk whether existin phosphate remover is capable of keepin ur PO4 in control. If not, media need to be changed. Else, test can be done again 2 more wks later. Then u will knw roughly how long ur phosphate remover will last u.
  10. U can try out some other reputable brand as well....like contraphos, biophos, tunze silphos...... Btw.....Aquaz shd be launchin their phosphate remover soon. U may wanna check tat out.
  11. Got a brand new rio32hf for sale. Decided to stick to pressure rated pump instead. Sellin for $90.....Interested, pls pm me ur contact n i get back to u asap.
  12. too bad i dun hav wat u wan. Else definitely would give to u FOC for ur kindness in adoptin those 2 bunnies.
  13. The new head of TP is a women bro.....so ur "dad"
  14. Lookin at ur setup, i would reckon tat u upgrade some of ur equipment first before attemptin sps. Priority would be skimmer, wave maker and possibly chiller (if unable to cope with the new heat frm MH). Nxt, will be the CR which will help u in maintainin a constant Ca and dkh. Personally, i felt more LR would be essential coz 20kg kinda of too little. Followin tat...some of ur LS hav to go too =>Carpet anemone, Purple tip anemone and Anemone crab. To answer ur queries....y nt go for 2x150W since ur depth is only 18inch coz if u hav oreadi deployed a DSB of 4-6inch....tat would leave u with a depth of 12-14inch and for this depth, 150W MH would be good enough. But of coz if u wanna go ahd with 250W, by all means. In the scenario tat ur MH bulb blows....get it change asap. IMHO, its not healthy to deprive ur sps of light for more than 3 days and above else they will starts losin their colors.
  15. how abt doing it this way...>>>>locate tank in air con room.....so got air con to help bring down the temp of tank. And shd air con fail...> still got chiller no.1.....and when chiller no.1 fail still got chiller no.2 and when power trip still got UPS and when all fail.....still got maid to blow bubble and useher hand to create movements in the water.
  16. u guys r gettin obesses and paranoid by the minute
  17. When there is a will there is a way bro. Lots of committment needed especially keepin sps in nano. Bet ur new tank will look even better when fully stock up. but maintenance will kill u
