  8. where you bot it from? locally or ship in?
  9. i enquired before. this is the reply and price. Yes, we can ship the goods to Singapore. Alpha-1 price is US$104. Shipping cost is US$78. is it easily available in Taiwan marine LFS?
  10. http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel/travel/travel_id_540/travel_site_10703/ Its inside the Market side, Ayer Rajah Hawker Centre walking distance from marine life. A small LFS so stocks usually come from bigger LFS or farms. Worth making a trip if staying nearby and no transport to the farms.
  11. Sorry to hear about your loss. Bro lemon also brought back 2 butterfly fish from HK and up lorry too. PErhaps Bro lemon and Terryz can advise on why this is happening. Could be because of luck cos apparently the wrasse that lemon brought back from HK is doing well. BTW, how did your friend ship the fish back from HK?
  12. Yes. commonwealth outlet selling. Its artifical white vinegar right?
  13. yeap. this is the one and there is different brands as well. It works for me even if i dose in main tank. I've chose to ignore if there any sudden apperance of "white spots". just do water change and ensure water perimeter is in tune. BTW, i run 50mg ozone as well. cheers
  14. Its true that prevention is better than cure but everyone have their own remedies and "cure" for white spots. For my case, i just ignore the white spots and ensure that the water quality and conditions are in prime condition. There is this medicine called "triple sulfur tablet". tried a long time back seems to work very well for white spots. anyone with experience with this medicine?
  15. After these few years of reefing. As with a few other reefers, we came to the conclusion "white spots" will always be in the system. As long fishes are feeding well and water conditions alright, just leave them alone
  16. Are we allow to indicate which LFS you referring to here? Just like the Tampiness Push cart incident, at least we know which LFS you referring to. This might serve as a notice to the LFS and if they are in this forum, they might want to clarify themself and fellow reefers will be more aware as well.
  17. sure bro. Will check them out. just thinking that it might be good to have a local list in PDF format. understand that PDF can be openin on iphone etc.
  18. Hey lemon great. No hurry. Lets just have the common fish available in LFS, common name and scientific name. a short description why it's easy, moderate and difficult. Hopefully, with this little "bible", reefers can print it out or download into mobile and bring to LFS. I've told goudian and need to discuss how we can channel this efforts to support sgreef and MASS.
  19. i've this idea. have 3 icons, green for easy, possible amber for moderate and red for expertise and difficult to keep. For all the talk, now i'm willing to walk the talk. Lemon, you want help me compile the list? I design a nice little booklet for reefers esp. newbies.
  20. Well written bro but it's almost impossible to learn and know All the species available. Like I'm more familiar with Tangs than butterflies fish. However, what more disturbing to me is even some experienced Lfs is giving advices saying they are veryeasy to keep. Still remember I was told ornate butterflies eat pellets easily! I've a suggestion, if there are fellow reefers who willing to list and indicate all the common fishes local lfs bring in, categorize them. Eg easy or difficult , refrain from buying. I can volunteer to lay them out into a small booklet in PDF formats. By doing so, all reefers be able to bring the PDF along and not having to rely on the so call "experts lfs owner" perhaps a token donation to MASS be nice. Let me discuss with goudian as I think it's in line with Mass mission of responsible reefing Cheerz
