  5. atlantic blues are very docile creatures when there are other tangs in the tank. it's very easy to see if its stressed or not. The colour of the tang changes to pale blue immediately when stressed, when returns to dark blue when calm.

  14. racism will always be present. racial stereotypes will always be unknowingly passed down from parent to child. the goevrnment always plays on people's fears of racial riots that make us feel scared or afraid to voice our racism loudly. instead of going out and understand different races, we are confined within our own comfort zone, criticising other races secretly in the comfort of our abodes.
  15. Prologue 1: Darkness The world had changed. It all began when Shadowthrone, the God of Darkness, stole the Enorwara Fire from Mathias, God of Light and used it to dry up the rivers of Eilora. The flames of the Enorwara Fire extinguished all life on Eilora, the once unrivalled paradise of the Immortals and thus transformed it into the Underworld. Shadowthrone channeled all the lost souls of the Dead that roamed the Land into the Underworld and it transformed into an endless abyss of despair and pain. There, Shadowthrone created monstrosities, abominations that even the Gods loathe to face. And to exert his will the Shadowthrone created his messengers. From the soil, Shadowthrone created the Minotaur. From the tainted air of his realm, he created the Wraith. And from the living sea of blood amassed in the netherworld, he gave live to the Hydra. These creatures however were denizens of the dark and easily succumbed to the warmth and light of the realms, and could not extend the Shadowthrone’s influence into the mortal realms. He thus stole soil from the land of the living and placed it on his left hand. And into the soil, he placed his tooth. The ungodly mixture of light and chaos became Kilor Andarist, the messenger of Shadowthrone. Shadowthrone allowed Kilor to be born in the womb of a woman in the human kingdom of Sehem. It was said that when Kilor was born, he possessed supernatural powers. At the age of twelve, Kilor killed all his brothers, attributing their deaths to “unfortunate” circumstances and ascended to the head of the family when he was eighteen. He joined the army and rose through the ranks fast. When the King of Sehem died, the new King Regis summoned Kilor to be his Grand Advisor. One night, Shadowthrone ordered Kilor to strike King Regis and claim the throne for himself. The world shall know no peace, with the coming of Kilor Andarist, a name that the other three wizards, Fener Tennerock, Heboric Light Touch and Hisan Mael will grow to hate. The sorcerer flicked his cloak aside and jumped onto the ground. The knight accompanying him dismounted and asked, “You’re sure it’s here?” “Quite certain,” said the sorcerer. “What we cannot see lurks around.” “I can feel it with my feet,” the knight said. In front of them, the army loomed, an army gathered by the loyal generals of the late king, those who hearkened to the words and influence of Lord Guglielmus, trusted general of King Regis. Veteran marksmen, who had seen the ancient battles of the past stood in their ranks, loading their arrows into the stretched yew wood, colossal trebuchets, emerged from the files behind. “They’ve brought their toys…”The sorcerer said with a wry smile. Behind the silhouette of the duo, massed armies of Kilor Andarist and the minions of the Greater Demon arrived. The reapers were the last to arrive, leaping off their exhausted mounts to stare impatiently at the banners of Lord Guglielmus. They had all heeded the call of Kilor. They had all come. Hardened soldiers cried out with dignity and gazed at their enemies. War drums thundered in rhythm with the marching soldiers as they followed the lead of Lord Guglielmus and his generals. “It begins,” said the sorcerer. The sorcerer mounted his griffin and charged forward at the front of their armies, the battle had begun.
  16. This story is a combined effort by my friends and I. Inspired by games and movies we played and saw, we decided to write a story just for the sake of fun. For your reading when you just don't feel like doing any serious stuff. *warning* introduction may be filled with confusing characters and terms. they are explained later. *enjoy* Preface The Birth of the Lands: It is said the God of all divine was borne of a star in the Heaven, amongst the 245 which would in time give rise to other Gods. Hereafter three stars absorbed the essence of the other lesser stars, and hence gave rise to the first three Gods which walked the Heavens. They were the brothers, Oiliccus, Hurigeon, and Olyeias. However, Oiliccus incurred the wrath of his brothers when he felled the Tree of Life, a sentient artifact Hurigeon and Olyeias had created to give life to the Lands. Olyeias had created the Tree at the expense of his hair and thereafter, he had been known as the Bald One. Caught up in their fury, Hurigeon and Olyeias slew their own brother. Oiliccus however cursed Hurigeon and Olyeias before he dissipated into the darkness of the Heavens. Hurigeon went missing soon after and was never seen again by Olyeias. Using his eyes, Olyeias imparted part of his essence to two other stars, out of which, Eratheion and Zelheimar were born. Once, Eratheion angered Olyeias so much that Olyeias wept, and the tears became the waters. He replanted the Tree of Life, and the Tree bore fruits. Out of these fruits, came the first of the Men, Elves and other races that would roam the Lands in advent of the 1st Age. Longing for companionship, the Gods thus tore apart the other stars one by one to give rise to the other Gods. Faced with the imminent problem of overpopulation and conflicting ideals between the Ancient Gods and the Lesser generation, Zelheimar then created Eilora and Quirare, otherwise known as the celestial planes, were the gods resided. It was the general consensus that Aeryon and Odweyn would acquire avatars and live on the Lands to govern the races on it. Gods that were slain or had expanded their energies would retire to Quirare, the resting place of Gods, for all eternity. Peace dominated most of the 1st Age but the Gods were all shocked by the return of Oiliccus. Oiliccus had not died while Hurigeon and Olyeias smote him down. He had but split himself into many fragments and synthesized his rebirth in a faraway land. There, he bred the Giants and turned them against the other Gods. The War of the Gods swiftly ensued. Oiliccus led the Giants and fought mighty battles against the Gods. Many were slain but the Gods emerged as victors. However, the chaos of the battle had allowed Oiliccus to kidnap Kyreias, the Goddess of Love. Their offspring Zenroth, was to be the first of the mighty demi-gods, spawned from two gods and not the stars. Power over the Lands was soon after handed over to the Lesser Gods as the Greater Gods resided in the magical realms of Quirare. The 2nd Age thus began, after the War of the Gods when the Gods destroyed the Land of the Giants. As Evil undoes upon itself, Zenroth eventually grew up and killed Oiliccus over a dispute. Kyreias then fled to Quirare to dwell there for eternity, drowning herself in her sorrow over her own misfortune. Zenroth then created a realm of his own, using flesh from his thigh to nourish the putrid plane of his design. There, he created the Undead and captured souls of those who were dead. He ascended to the Shadowthrone and thereby the 3rd Age began. Brief Introduction: Gods and Goddesses of the 3rd Age Alorea, Goddess of War Nigata, God of Wisdom Shadowthrone, God of Darkness, Lord of the Underworld, Greater Demon Mathias, God of Light Major Cities Erothientho – Capital of Terrna (Human Lands) Otherotura – Capital of Elhalyn (Elvish Lands) Dalereuth – Capital of Sehem (Human Lands) Avenlion (Northern Steppes) – Home of the Orcs Lorthorien – Prince Mikhail’s castle The different races Humans were led by the powerful Lord Collition, who chased the Orcs out of the West and established the first human kingdom of Terrna(see birth of Terrna). They are known to be extremely well-versed in aesthetics and have a way with business. A major portion of their wealth is dedicated to the building of great castles and monuments as an indicator of monetary and social status. The average height of a human ranges around 1.8m, or 6 kafts, as their language has it. An average man usually lives for about 150 years. Lovers of Nature and art, the Elves were and still are warriors who fought against the Terrna Army in the Human Civil Wars. Terrnaian forces pursued the fleeing people who later founded the kingdom of Sehem. The Great Sage, Randrod the Wise, cut off the Terrna Army’s pursuit and pushed them back with his magical prowess. The Elves seem to fight for everything righteous but little is known about them. These hermits tend to withdraw to their own lands and isolate themselves from the outside world as they perceive the outside world to be corrupt. Due to their longevity, the Elvish Army spends most of their time perfecting their skills of archery and magic. The average height of an Elf is around 1.9m or 7kafts. An average elf usually lives for about 400 years. Orcs are generally found in the Northern Mountains and can best be described as half-human and half-beast, but their true nature has yet to be discerned. They practice alchemy and as a thumb rule rely only on axes and scimitars as a combat tool. Some tribes such as the Ashcruk Orcs are known to be brutal and never take any prisoners--they kill all. Bones litter their mountain hideout in Avenlion. The average height of an Orc is around 2m or 8 kafts. An average orc usually lives for about 80 years. Overview of the Orcs: The Orcs once roamed and pillaged freely, the lands of Men till the 305th year of the 1st Age, also known as Orcsbane when they were defeated by a combined force of Men led by Lord Collition. Since then, the Orcs had been banished to the Northern Steppes. Led by the bloodthirsty and mighty warrior Orc chieftain, Baruk Khan, the Orcs are a wandering race, never settling down. Orcish shamans practice dark magic on living prisoners to boost their aggression in battle.There are distinct tribes who share different beliefs, such as the Feiga Orcs which Lord Collition defeated in the Final Battle. The Ashcruk Orcs were notorious for their furor in battle and are known to take no prisoners. Other equally fierce tribes include the Gruggri and Jierae orc tribes. In the face of enemies, the Orcs are swift to band together and are fiercely protective of their own ken. Human Units Legions are lightly armoured foot soldiers. A legion is usually paid 10 gold stars every Yona. The standard equipment for legions is a sword and a broad shield. Pikemen are slow, due to their heavy armour and pikes which they utilize to take down mounted warriors as the Rolack Riders. However, their lack of speed means that they are vulnerable to magic and arrows which can cut them down from afar. Marksmen are fast but they are weak. They can fire great distances as their bows are made from high quality yew wood, making them one of the most employed warriors. During battles, archers are usually protected by an infantry unit to guard against up close enemies. Knights, or Champions, in Terrna, are mighty warriors which dominate the battlefield. Though heavily armoured, they are swift but are wary of pikemen. The most feared calvary unit is the 7th Calvary of the Terrna Army led by the Prince of Terrna, Sirtas Ultor, reputed for their strict discipline and torturous training. Knights charge with long lances, before breaking away to engage the enemy with their long swords. Siege Engineer Units are deployed in areas where the Army needs to cross a barrier like a river or takes down castles. These troops are essentially weak but can build siege weaponry to take down cities. Elven Units Rangers are light-armoured soldiers with years of experience. All are armed with bow and sword. Granted their long life spans, Elves have the luxury of perfecting their skills, and often have an edge over the other races in the field of experience. The Elves integrate hand-to hand combat with their ancient art of archery and depend on rangers as the main force of their army. Guardians are heavily-armoured horse-riders who release arrows with deadly accuracy and fight with long swords on horseback. Elite Rangers are raised to Guardians where they are trained to do combat on horseback. Guardians are the elite of the Elvish Army. Unicorn Riders are considered the fastest riders in the Land. They fight on unicorns which are creatures native to the Elven Lands. Rolack Riders are ride into battle with a great battle-axe and a spear to fling at retreating soldiers who run away at the sight of their fearsome mounts. A Rolack is a prehistoric creature whose hide is tough to penetrate and thereby resistant to almost any arrows. Orcish Units Kavu Warriors are the rivals of Legions. They are taller than and stronger than Men. They are armed with 2 axes and are heavily armoured. Kangree Stormers are the archers of the Horde. They fire with deadly accuracy but due to the tedious process of winding up the crossbow, they are slow reloaders. Stormers are armed with an axe to do battle with enemy close up. Kavu Raiders are riders who are very agile but are lightly armoured. They often rush down the Northern Steppes to raid Terrna’s resources. Blood Shamans are adept in alchemy and armed with a staff. He uses his concoctions to boost the attack ability and can destroy other enemies. Queen of Sehem Prince Mikhail – Prince of Sehem, son of King Regis and Queen Deidameia Princess Estelle – Princess of Sehem, sister of Prince Mikhail King Halstad – King of Terrna. Son of King Delmar and Queen Hajnal (3rd Age Year 2000, 6th Yona – 3rd Age Year 2431, 3rd Yona ) Sirtas Ultor – Prince of Terrna. Son of King Halstad Elvio Ultor – Prince of Terrna Master Rallick Imass – Son of Master Idaeus Imass. Mage King of the Elves (3rd Age Year 1980, 5th Yona – 3rd Age Year 2120, 24th Yona) Baruk Khan - Orc Chieftain of the Orcish Tribes, leader of the Orcs. Wizards Kilor Andarist - Wizard, serves as a speaker for the Dark Lord, Shadowthrone and acts as a pawn to dominate the whole Land. Also known as the Terrible One. Fener Tennerock – Wizard, Messenger of Nigata Heboric Light Touch – Wizard, Messenger of Mathias. Sent to aid Mikhail in his bid to overthrow the tyranny of Kilor and reclaim the rightful throne. Hisan Mael – Wizard, Messenger of Alorea Warriors Lord Kellanved - General of the northern Terrna armies, died in an ambush by orcs, considered the mightiest warrior ever lived. Lord Renato – General of eastern legions of Terrna, died while protecting King Septimus of Terrna from the orcs. Lord Guglielmus – Trusted General of King Regis, held his last stand at the plains in front of Lorthorien in a bid to stop Kilor Andarist from corrupting the whole of Sehem. Master Pennates – Master and Guardian of Mikhail Zoltor Smith – Son of Kellanved Lord Inybss –Loyal Official of King Regis, uncle of Prince Mikhail Verius Angmaker – A clever commoner that Mikhail met when taking over Lorthorien. Later became Mikhail’s military strategist. Master Sar-Cuir Ravenwood –Guardian of the Southern Gates of Elhalyn Sir Chester – Loyal knight of Mikhail, he was promoted to Overlord of the Sehem Knights when Mikhail died. Sir Gesdo – Loyal knight of Mikhail, who died in the battle for Dalereuth. Brief Overview Rolacks are mighty creatures native to the Elven homelands. They once roamed the grassy meadows of the Southern Elven Lands until the 2nd Age when Master Pandarus Viator ordered the Rolacks be tamed and used for military purposes as its hide is thick and difficult to penetrate. Since then, the elves have been feared for their prowess in battle. Common Tongue – The Ancient Language was used in the 1st Age when the Dark Lord Oiliccus reigned in the Underworld. When the Tempest of the Giants ended, Oiliccus was defeated. With the defeat of the Dark Lord, the Age ended and soon, the ancient language was phased out and the Common Tongue was developed as a result. However, the Ancient Language is still used in the realms of the Underworld. Warthoms are the equivalent of 1/2 mile in the Land. The different people have different units of measurement. 1 Kaft is the same as 0.1 metres. The 1st Age began with the birth of Oiliccus, the first Dark Lord. The 2nd Age began with the birth of Zenroth, the second Dark Lord and the death of Oiliccus. The 3rd Age began with the birth of Shadowthrone, the third Dark Lord and the death of Zenroth. One Age depends on how long the Dark Lord reigns in the Underworld and has a random number of years. One year has 32 Yonas. Yonas means months. There are 76 days in one Yona.
