That was a typo, i meant to say 76 days!

I like to refer to humble.fish for fish diseases and possible treatment. Ideally all the ich would've died after a couple weeks without a host, but a few studies have shown that some strain can survive up to 76 days. Hence, the recommended fallow period.

  2. About 3.5", with me for about 3 months.

Completed full set of quarantine (copper power + metronidazole + praziquintel) in QT for a month before going into my reef. So 0 risk of parasites.

Super greedy and feeds on nori, pellets and mysis shrimps readily.

Already caught out and in breeding box now. Selling because it is picking on my purple tang constantly.

Letting go at $70, FCFS so as to not stress it out too much.

  3. Day 119.

    Tank is 4 months old!

Tank is doing well but po4 shot up after i tried to pump up my skinny yellow tang! All the time while nitrate remained at 0, so there's some nutrients inbalance right now.

Took apart the previous UAS led that blew and thermal glued the heatsink to the new LED, now its dissipating heat much better!

    2 weeks worth of growth!

Also dosing 2 ppm of nitrate daily right now in an attempt to raise nitrate in my tank.

A couple new frags from Pinnacles, let's see how it colors up

    New clams!

Rescued a dying sun coral from a fellow reefer, currently soaking in a cube of mysis for 30mins daily. Hopefully it will bounce back.

    Everything looks good!

The anemone is well behaved eh :)

Thanks bro, it didnt behave for long! It started walking around a week ago out of a sudden. So i sold it away sadly.

  5. Definitely flukes! Eiho Prazigold should eliminate this pretty well and also safe to dose in a reef tank. infact i overdosed mine by 125% and none of my corals had any adverse effect. Remember to do a round 2 treatment on day 7 or 8 to catch any eggs that were not killed on day 1.

Ahh I was also looking at the jebao slw 10 but I was worried it might be too strong for the tank

Don't think will be too strong, you can always set at the lowest setting since its controllable. Also pulse mode tend to be more 'gentle' on corals rather than straight on standard mode.

  7. The general consensus is not to dose anything you cant test for. Potassium is something which can be tested and quite accurately for, and iodine can be tested but generally very inaccurate.

Tropic Marin's CEO Lou Ekus mentioned before that a reef tank below 1 year old need not worry about trace dosing which i agree, generally new reef tank has more than enough trace and with a lower coral load, don't have to worry about those depleting.

Once hitting the 1 year mark, it could be beneficial to do an ICP test to figure out what needs to be replenished. But if you have been doing regular water change with a good salt, i don't expect any trace (maybe except potassium) to be depleted unless you have a wall-to-wall SPS tank.
