  1. Does anyone enjoy reading resurrected dead threads with deliberate 2 consecutive posts to increase one's post count? I know I don't.

    1. Firestarter

      Firestarter

Was about to post it when I saw your post.

Managed to single out 3 culprits (kfc, gstar, calvinming) all with the same style of writing and under 100 posts. Mods hope you can look into it (multi-nicking).

    2. ASHWIN

      ASHWIN

Not to forget the "jasongo" too his signature word is ""Nice"" or "Thumbsup"..in every single thread

  2. Now that ang ang CNY is over, time to combat the ang ang problem: cyano. Anyone have any good suggestions to deal with the problem?

Cool... will do that tonight. Even the friendly helper at Iwarna was surprised at the weight of the bottle. "Are you sure this is the product that you want?" he asked. Lol...

      orsony

Hi bro. Any update of the product. I have same problem too.

Haven't started using it. Will start today and share my review. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it is accurate anymore, since the red slime seems to have subsided a bit. Will continue to monitor.

  3. Sigh... get rid of the silly minimum 100 posts already. It's participation that we want, not spam.

  4. For those who are interested to know, it is called "jerry can", not "jelly can". Also, "lighting" and "lightning" are really two very different things.

  5. Sigh... I've done tank transfers numerous times, but this round is the worst. Tried to remove the piping, end up cracking the bottom of my display tank. Was washing the sump tank in the toilet, it slipped and knocked on the floor, causing a crack. Option 1: Get a new tank set. Option 2: Use another tank that has been lying around at home. Option 3: Decomm entirely. Option 3 seems very attractive at this moment...

Hi Bro. Either Opt 1 or 2. Cheers!

Hmmm how come? They finish all the algae and die?

    3. peacemaker

      peacemaker

Lol... I wished, but before they can complete the job, they vaporized. Not a trace. Maybe my tank is too toxic for them...

    4. mengyang_neo

      mengyang_neo

i see, hmmm hopefully mine will survive, according to the net, they will disappear when there is no more algae.

Lol... not fast enough lah. I'll check with him on how I can save them. I wonder if anyone has successfully captive bred Yashias?

    3. peacemaker

      peacemaker

Nope. Wasn't able to save any as I didn't have the right equipment to retrieve them to keep them alive. I'll get prepared for the next wave though. :o)

  10. The belly of my helfrichi goby has sunken in in-spite of feeding. How should I resolve this?

    1. yikai

      yikai

most likely internal parasites. very common in deepwater species. praziquantel works wonders.

  11. Algae outbreak again... in spite of reduced feeding, skimmer upgrade, ROWA, water changes... sigh... this is pushing me to throw in the towel.

Yup, my water is made from RO/DI. Will continue with water changes and see how it goes. Jeremy did trigger a thought though... I still have an algae scrubber hanging around.

  17. While cleaning the tank, my blue neon goby pair came to "clean" my hands. Looking on the bright side, they are really bold now! On the other hand, my hands are probably dirty or with dead skin, in which they are interested in...

My power supply blew for the nano wave box, so the pair is taking refuge in it. Haven't seen them actively feeding yet, so keeping my fingers crossed. Hope they are not too focused on each other and forgot about food! (-,-)

  19. Starting to lose interest in upkeeping my office nano... no motivation to add any corals. Should I just pull the plug...?

Bro, may be consider consolidate to one instead ?

    3. peacemaker

      peacemaker

Yes, this is in consideration. I'm torn between keeping a sand bed vs bare bottom. Sand bed is for aesthetic purposes as well as for the pistol shrimp. Bare bottom for nutrient control to keep SPS. Decisions decisions...

      Jameshong

If u decom yr nano tank, pls PM me as I may be interested to buy over...!

Even if all of them are connected? That's interesting. Other factors like light, wavemaker placement, rock structure and livestock each play their roles in the reef.

    3. cedricang

      cedricang

Nope, the different behavior on coralline observe on separate system. I am more incline to think that light seems to play a major role :)

    4. peacemaker

      peacemaker

Oh, I thought it was the reef in general. Yup, definitely light is the biggest factor.
