  1. Hi bro, I'm keen. Can see it today? If okay, then when? My number is 64438247. Thks, Finbir.
  2. Hi Fadly, Am interested in ur Deltec FR509 reactor. Can call me at 64438247 to deal? Thks, Finbir.
  3. Getting a healthy young juvenile copperband , around one inch or smaller , is a good way to increase its chances of survival. But, only if your tank has plenty of tiny bugs for it to eat. Then u can see it grow ! Hopefully, it will follow the other inhabitants and accept alternative food as time passes.
  4. Looks like a false cleaner wrasse that eats scales of other fishes.
  5. Hi guys, It's been quite a while since the above postings. But the good news is that Pacific Reef has again brought in the C. aurinatus in their recent shipments. But what condition they r in will be 4 the buyers to try out. Cheers.
  6. All tangs need at least a 3' long set up, the bigger the better, to prevent aggression. Basically, a 4-footer will enable them to roam around comfortably without annoying other tank inhabitants.
  7. With frags commonly available nowadays, I don't see why there's any need to troll the ocean reefs. I'd say let's give Nature a break!
  8. Hi fren, I bought my Macro Aqua 250 needlewheel external skimmer from Hausmann Aquarium at Lim Chu Kang road. At that time, the folks there carry a few models. Good luck.
  9. Nowadays one hardly sees it at local fish shop.
  10. Set a budget, go to one of the LFS and let them set up everything. Diying will almost always end with disapointment and disaster. An initial setup by experienced people will point u in the right path so u can slowly fine tune your interest. Good luck.
  11. Hi tuajia, IMO, if what u r keeping is worth more than the wetted salt, the best thing to do is to dump the lot.
  12. Frankly speaking, it would be good if seller can state the location e.g. Woodlands, City Hall, etc., so buyer can know if it is near to where he is staying. Good day.
  13. Hi Bro, Am interested. I live in Bedok NOrth. How to contact u. Thks.
  14. Hi bro, There's an article on this topic by Tanne Hoff at Reef Builders, yesterday. I use my sump , which has an almost similar setup to the main display. The guys can settle down till they r fat n healthy. Well, I've done it many times but all it needs is a newby to undo the good. Mind u, ur new fishes can live for well over two months n one day,a new addition can cause an outbreak of itch n only the strongest can survive. Good luck.
  15. Hi bro, To date, my current tank which is almost 15yrs old can take any new fish; provided they r compatible. The most important thing is to get the new guy to settle down n this I do my initially leaving it in a quarantine sans medication. After it has regain its strength which can be between two weeks to a month, I then start treatment with 'stop itch' medication sans copper. When a newby is eating well, it will not be easily bullied n will soon be accepted by the residents.
  16. Hi bro, Called u this afternoon to temporarily reserve and arrange the viewing of the Dolphin HOB 800 2morrow evening btwn 7pm and 8pm (based on ur convenience) Hope 2 c u soon.
  17. Red grease is normally meant for plastic or rubber products e.g. fan belt of cars or rubber washer of canister filter (better to use vaseline in this case). Hardware stores will sell spray on rust inhibitor. Hardware stores selling car accessories will have different types of grease for sale.
  18. Hi bro, M interested in Item 4. How's the state of the item? Where do u live? I live in Bedok North. Thks, Finbir.
  19. Hi Xiggie, The pics r of my filter as of today. The inhabitants r pretty healthy. Feeding's done daily. But it's bin like this since day one , whether using SM's 1st scrubber or the current one. Maybe it's 'cos I don't use a chiller? But the water temp's normal s I'm using just a Jebao RW 15 n the main part of my sump is actually 3' plus x 2'.
  20. Totally agree with u Bro Bright. BTW, I managed 2 get someone to post some pics of my UAS. Hope everything's much clearer now. Cheers n happy diying.
  21. Bro Bright, The floating algae basket shown by Bro Xiggie is his latest set up. Mine's his old set-up n is like the Vortech MP40 pump i.e. mat inside n lights outside.
  22. The acrylic cover I mentioned has 4 holes at its base and the plastic air tubing is strapped there by cable ties. A 2mm thick piece of opaque acrylic is likewise strapped onto the cover to reduce unwanted algae growth and it also acts as a clip on to the glass. The top of the cover is an inch above the water level. Hence the air bubbles over the algae mat can only explode in the confined space and not wet the surroundings.
  23. Hi Bright, Me ain't no sifu. Bro Xiggie's posted his earlier design of the led lights. Likewise, he's replied 2 all the queries u wanted. S 4 me, I think I'll reconstruct my algae mat to the latest one like his. I've also done the same earlier scrubbers n am still trying.
  24. If u look carefully, my heat sink is an aluminium cake tray while bro Xiggie's a piece of aluminium flo light reflector . My filter mat is housed in half a Ferroro chocolate box (400g type), hence no spray. It's acrylic, clear, light n sticks easily to the glass with rubber stoppers.
