  2. Hmm, did not notice any rubber footing for the pump. Yes, I will put some foam under the ehiem pump, also instead of using fixed, rigid PVC piping, will use a short lenght of green flexible hose to reduce vibration to the fixed piping. Hope it will help reduce sound.
  3. Hi, u mean the blue filter like pad? yes, I put it together with the pump.
  4. Hi, I got a new Ehiem 1264 pump for my sump tank, but the vibration of the pump is causing some sound? anyone can help me to reduce the vibration and sound?
  5. Hi Creetin, You have PM, please call me. very interested to find out more and deal this week if possible.
  6. Hi, I think hermitcrab have limited lifespan, average is 2yrs only, so if they are adult size when u buy them, the most left 1yr plus inside your tank.
  7. Hi Lester, Just to check, can this tank hold water at the lower portion of the tank? How much is the depth of water it can hold? Thanks
  8. Hi Fishiee AM tanjong katong have some blue legged hermit crabs and some normal brown colour hermit crabs, an advice if you want to keep hermitcrab, get/buy some slightly bigger empty shells, once hermitcrab outgrow their existing shell, they need to change shell. Hermitcrab do not live forever, lifespan is between 2-3years. Like all crabs and shrimp, they need vitamins for them to molt properly, for me, i add iodine and calcium.
  9. Hi, i got the same problem, it seems like the chaeto are affected by slime aglae or something, I either manually remove the aglae or cut those portion away,
  10. Hi there, any one still rem that in Changi Airport Terminal 2, Arrival Hall, there are 2 marine tanks, one of them is a lionfish, eel, travelly tank (now Mcdonald) and another a mixed reef tank (now swensen). I was hooked to marine fish when I was working in there. Sad to see the tank gone when they upgrade the terminal. Any one got pictures of those tank?
  11. This was its temporary feeding ground until I move it back to the main tank. Haha, i am caring for the abalone more than other livestock
  12. Yup, those are algae, i have to leave some for the abalone. i actually move it to another tank, finish the aglae then move it back. Well, all these are execuse for my laziness. haha.
  13. Hi, here is my tank, a very simple setup, just a 2 ft one, will get a proper tank when i get my house in June.
  14. Hi Wei Hao Another thing will be to control your urge to buy fish on impulse, always ask the LFS when did the fish arrived, try not to buy fishes that just arrived. They could be stressed out by the shipment trip already. If u can observe them for sometime, if not ask the shopkeeper for fish that are around already. I also notice that sometime, due to the "centralised" water system adopted by most pet shops, disease in one tank will also be spread to other tank sharing the same water system. Choose a lfs that has healthy lifestock, for me I have a few "preferred shop" and they are alway those far far away from my house. Eventhough there are LFS within 30minutes distance of my house. Open up your options
  15. Opps, sorry, wrong post, Mod can assist to delete this post.
  16. Hi Weihao, I am like you, keeping fish in a 2 feet tank, here are some things i learn during my my hobby 1) Hermit crab have limited life span, most are 2-3 years only, if you crab die on you, maybe its already very old 2) Shrimp, crabs need calcium, iodine to molt properly, they will die if they do not molt properly 3) Try to have a cover for your tank, some time after water change fish will "jump" out of fright, sometimes, the activities in your room will frighten fish also 4) Do not believe what most shop keeper tells you about the fish, some fishes are really difficult to keep. 5) Put a limit to the fishes you have, in my 2 feet tank, i only 1 sally lightfoot crab, 2 box fish, 2 snails, 1 abalone. Have a theme for your tank. 6) Do not care your fishes to death, imagine how frightening if a giant hand mess with your room every day. 7) Some fish release poison when dead, boxfish is one of them. 8) there is no quick fix to problems, be patient, digest the suggestion properly and come up with a plan. Just my 2 cents worth
  17. Hi saw your post, is this a floating algae? or does it branch out from LR, also does it go asexual after awhile, apologies so much question. Lastly, u selling or giving?

  21. Hi all, Has anyone kept 2 nos of long nosed hawkfish in one tank before? Currently my tank has only 1 long nose, 1 abalone, 2 snails, was thinking of buying another one but concerned if they will fight. my is a 2 feet tank.
  22. Yup, my hermit crab will also eat them if there are no other food available, but in the event you need chaeto, on and off, I sell them. Times are bad, must sell them to sustain the hobby.
  23. Saw one about 3 inch at Tropica Fish Shop located at Blk 509 Bedok North St 3 #01-99.
  24. Hi, if you really only have fish, no shrimp, clam, or any inverts and you do not plan to keep any in the near future then you should try copper based treatment in the tank. If you cannot afford to put copper in your main tank, try to get a hospital tank setup, then put the fishes in the hospital tank and use copper treatment. For me, i just use those cheapo plastic tank and air pump. i did not feed also. For me, i wait until all the white spot disappear from my fish then i put them in another tank for 1 day to get rid of any residue copper and then introduce them back to the main tank.
