  1. Btw, my cleanup crew of Snails, Blenny and Hermit did not really help so you really have to start from the light and water.
  2. Try controlling the lights and PO4. I allowed the lights to be on for only less than 6 hours for 3 days and it works. For PO4, i even went down to water change, reactor and bio-pellets. On top of these, I went with a RO-DI unit for my tap water to reduce further.
  3. yes there is chaeto. believe it or not, it grew from 3 strands to a shoebox full now! as for the fishes. there are about 25 of them in a 5*2*2 tank. i think have to reduce the bio load base on your recommendation.
  4. thanks guys, i went to Beng and bought 6 containers of water and added another blue bucket of self mix salt water over the weekend. The phospate was down immediate at night when i tested the level! first time I see yellow on the test-tube!!!! skimmer went on like a volcano afterwards and it stopped today. the corals are looking good but I lost my elegance and green frog spawn thank you again for the advice and happy reefing!
  5. Thanks guys, will get some containers and get the NSW for the change today.
  6. looks like trouble. I got sting by bristle worm and had to pluck each needle out of my fingers one by one. Fingers got water bubbles for a week and feels funny for a month! This does not look like Bristle but remove it or place in sump until you are sure. Dont make a mistake like me to let the small bristle go during the cycling period.
  7. For NSW, it is clean and where do they get the water from? Will it introduce bacteria etc? I search and guess what NSW is but sorry to ask, what does it stands for? Thanks in advance.
  8. we are doing water changes now on a weekly basis. Have stopped feeding frozen food as well as we introduce the live brime shrimps weekly. Just did a search and they even recommend washing of feeding pellets with RO water. Is it true? How about PolyFilter? Has anybody tried this? I have a few Tangs and they grew quite big now. They are like goldfish in the fresh water tank, eating and a lot bio waste.
  9. Hi Guys, Need some advise here. Been running TLF550 with RowaPhosban and a Reef Ocotopus Reactor with NP Bio Pellets at full steam but my Phosphate is still quite high. My Skimmer is a Schuran Jetskim 150 with a new Ehiem 1262 to increase the skimming as well. Recently bought Brightwell Extrax Phos to see if it helps but is there a quicker way? Btw, just got a RO unit from Ah Beng to ensure tap water is treated. Tank is 5ft x 2 x 2. with thin sand bed and lots of live rocks and fishes. Regards, Michael
  10. the flame hawk is quite dull in colour when I went down to take a look today.
  11. Hi Guys, just started a tank and 2 of the anthias shows a slightly swollen eye. I have read the forum many times and there seems to be many possiblity. I have checked the water condition and it is good so far. Anybody can provide a clue on this?
  12. Hi Guys, I am new here and I am interested to get my titanium coil with the compressor, how does this works or is there a link that let me know about the setup? Thanks in advance.
  13. Using NTM for my MP40. My fishes love to swim in front of the current!
