Guys, Been thinking to kick off a new setup, hence needing help and guidance to do so. As for kick start and cycling period, which one do i need during the period? 1. Pump ( Yes right? ) 2. Wavemaker ( Yes right? ) 3. Skimmer 4. Reactors - PO4, Calcium etc. 5. Chiller 6. Lighting 7. Anything else ( please suggest ) As i had been reading through the forum, some suggested to throw in "market prawn" as it is beneficial for the bacterias. Any other suggestion? Also, what kind of monitoring do i need to do. ( NO2,NH4 etc) I'm looking to set up a 3 X 2 X 1.5 tank with soft corals and fishes.

ah, thanks again. so maybe will need the best parameter for the tank. Salinity - is it 1.025? some say should be a bit lower. Calcium - maybe 420? Mag - 1380? kH - 9 - 10? or higher? ph - 8.2? no2 - i assume should be 0 no3 - max limits? po4 - max limits? i mean the highest that acceptable maybe any of you guys been using the grotech product ( i think ) that contains and coded by the A,B,C etc . what is that stuff? BTW , where could i get the latest koralia and the price?

( will try to get used one if the price tag is over my budget ) ---never use this before FR : rowa media Is there any suggestion on additional additives needed on the setup? Been reading through stuff like vodka dosing, vitc, zeolith and stuff. What brand and type that you guys normally use?

But for me as a noob, who think to move over from LPS to SPS keeping find it quite hard as getting too many info with different point of view. Cause before this i only maintain my LPS mix with softies with calcium additives Denitrator : What media to use? Carbon? Sulphur etc? ah. maybe will adjust to middle of the neck. you are right. i could see the foam cannot climb up cause too wet. worried if adjust too high it will skimmed out everything including the additives like vitamin, coral food etc.

I just got and installed beckett skimmer ( chippson ) with 8' diameter and need help on the proper water level that should be set on. dunno if it should be on the upper or lower neck of the skimmer. right now using rio32 for it. i set the level to the lower neck but not much of waste produced. please help me.thanks.
