  1. nah not any scientific name or anything. Just wondering incase these were something special. they are hitchhikers afterall. Thanks Lemon
  2. Well, it's been slightly more than a month since I set up my tank. These 3 here are some hitchhikers that seem to be thriving. There's still a mushroom or 2 that seem to be doing okay as well. Totally clueless for this one. It's growing on a tiny rock, about the size of a gum ball. There were only 6 mega small bleached polyps. Now there are quite a few and it's spreading over the rock. They seem to have a slight luminous yellow tinge to them. It's doing real well too. These have grown 2 new polyps since I got the Live Rocks. Still at 5 Polyps but I see a new bud forming. Help me to ID these guys. Your help is greatly appreciated.
  3. similar thing happened to my colony in my old 3ft tank. It was an algae problem Lost the pretty much the whole lot lest a few tiny survivors.. they too got killed when the Anemone Death = tank crash happened. Sigh..
  4. Weekly doses of Purple up and a tablespoon of strontium helps for me.

  7. you'd be surprised how hardworking the sand sifters are. .
  8. as long as whatever overflows in case of pump failure can be held in your sump... all should be fine.
  9. 4 years ago? ok will keep that in mind. I've not had problems with RB's Liverock though
  10. The mushroom is also a hitch-hiker. sorry about the image not being too clear.
  11. yeah will be heading down to reborn soon to look for some nicer LR. still cycling for now.. Noticed that there's some hitch-hicker Zoas. will take some pics soon.
  12. nope doesnt look too blue at all... it's perfect for my viewing though.
  13. I don't really want to keep any clownfish bro.. I'm definitely not rich either. hehehe April 20th... Only then can I go shopping for corals.
  14. After a year of fiddling with my FOWLR tank (it's still going strong that tank), my hands got a little itchy and decided to set this small tank in my room. It is a 2ft by 1ft by 1ft tank with T5 3 blue 1 white tubes... an overflow systen with a sump of the same size. I'm still fiddling with the return pipe. That's why it looks a litte odd there. As for the water flow, I'm trying to keep it very low to cater for the coral that hate high turbulence. I just added the live rock and sand. Did up the rockscape to my liking, making sure I have ample space for the corals I intend to get. Cycling has commenced with bits of supermarket prawn. I'm giving it a full 30 days so it's the 20th of April when I'll add any form of livestock. The liverock did come with a few neat hitch-hikers. A few mushrooms and some zoas. There'll be mostly inverts in this tank and perhaps a pair of fish. Nothing more. Likely candidates for the fish would be: Orchid Dottybacks Gobies Any reccomendations from the experienced here? All and any help is welcome. I'm also leaning towards the prospect of have a Green Star Polyp lawn. Any pointers there would also be awesome. Here is the picture I took an hour ago. Any suggestions or comments guys?
  15. In due time bro... in due time... i'm sure many of you are always on the look out for that perfect piece of Liverock.
  16. I'm planning on getting one for my FOWLR the next time I see them for sale.. will update here on ther behaviour.
  17. No Midnight Angel, Centropyge nox? That is my fave.
  18. I like it when their arm creeps out to pick at any of the mysis that lands on the sand beside the rock they hide under.. and slowly drag it in. hehe
  19. Well my Hermits are all accounted for and doing really well... Picked up some small empty shells the last time I was at the beach and some of the hermits have changed their homes. I guess it's a good sign that they are at least growing a little considering how little they grow anyway.
  20. Well, if I ever chance upon some awesome branch or bridge like pieces of Liverock, I'll definitely add to the scape. For now... it's kinda like a 'mountain peaks above the clouds' effect for me.
  21. hehe I'm the indian guy who always goes there to try his luck fishing.. anyway I also pick up some snails those with the round dark brown shells... not the ones with the barnacles.. they help keep the algae off the corners of my tank. As for the mysis there.... It comes in all sizes.. some really big ones... some sooo tiny... all schooling together near the pillars and the blue drums. There are times when I also scoop up some little shrimps which my starfish simply relish.
