Interesting topic. My tank is about a year and I still keep failing on anemones...

To add-on, it also depends how deep put your WM... some corals love the wave.

Just to share my experience. Pointing downwards cause the fine sand particles to float up and circulate around the tank, so I am keeping it horizontal or slightly upwards.
