My previous 422 tank W/sump had an internal underflow which was'n suitable for sand and undergravel but now I've just bought another 422 tank W/sump but with internal over flow, just discovered that if I put food into the tank it flows into the over flow before the fishes eats them. So which is actually the best design??? Real headache....

I've got a 422 bare tank now, due to budget constrain needs to buy used stuffs for the setup. better if someone decomming 422 setup. Left the hobby some 2 years back and wanting to come back.

Palnning to start my 322 with sump tank. Need some advise here. Can someone tell me what additives is required during the cycling period? Strongtium, magnesium, calcium? Besides NO2, NO3, PH & Ammonia, what other tests is required? When to perform the test? Which brand of Test kits would you guys reccommend? Cos I know some tests kits gives inaccurate reading. Though I had my first tank setup about 2 overs years ago which didn't work out quite well and had to give up halfway due to work overseas, lost lots of $$$ now got to buy everything 2nd and really careful.
