  1. copperband is still the best aiptasia eater if u able to keep it survive ... they not easy to take food so need put in QT for frozen food training b4 go into DT ... peppermint shrimp just depends on luck ... sumore your 6 footer atleast need more than 10 of them but no guarantee too ... seagrass filefish not reefsafe & also depends on luck too ... there is no any fish can fully kill all aiptasia in your tank they just eat those visible only but if the fish died than aiptasia will grow back so they are just control not cure ... same as manually kill them with Joe's Juice its the best product to use can even kill majeno easily but u only kill those visible & those under or inside LR area u can not see or hand can not reach will grow back later ...
  2. the pic is hybrid AT ... powder brown from philippines or manado juv also orange tail but when grow bigger become yellow tail & the different is AT scissor tail but powder brown flat tail ... so check out your fish tail shape ...
  3. turning off return pump for 6hrs without any problem have try a few times already ... usually red slime algae will reduce a lot during night time & come back when light on so light off period is the best timing ... some more turning off return pump with only main tank water circulation by wave maker is more effective & during light off period the temperature will not affected too much if without chiller because of return pump have turn off ...
  4. me have use Red Slime Remover a many time and it really work but the best way is to use it during light off after 1hr turn off return pump for 6hrs and keep the wave maker running ... after 6hrs turn on return pump and let the skimmer to skim all out about few cup or pail water & wc is not a must ... dosage about a bottle for 600L tank ... the 1st time using this product very effective but if red slime come back after few months need 1.5~2x dosage but this will bleach sps but never kill my sps ...
  5. look like palythoa they can live together with zoanthid ...
  6. Desjardini tail have yellow spot easy differentiate ...
  7. me have try put 4x sailfin tang togather & all of them eat my valonia crazy but they all are Desjardini not sure about Veliferum ... prefer to get medium size instead of getting small one ... 2 of them reefsafe for at least 6 months but another 2 nip & nearly kill my elegence coral ...
  8. me assume your backdrop can remove easily just temporary remove it & take a pic again u will feel a lot better for sure ... just the backdrop make your tank look so complicated becos it look very fake not matching to your LR ... how u do the scaping still will get the same feeling ... if u DIY the backdrop directly in the tank will be more natural instead of doing 3 pcs separately outside than combine all into the tank ...
  9. bro your scaping looks nice but sorry to say tat your backdrop make your tank look so ugly & not natural at all ... sorry just my own view & why u put this kind of backdrop ?
  10. genicanthus bladder problem very common during shipment have seen a lot for years but usually will become normal back on the next day or 2 days later don't worry too much ... just experience sharing ...
  11. me have keep chevron b4 from a 2" juv grow into 4" full adult color in just 4 months time so get smallest as possible so u can enjoy the nice juv color longer time ...
  12. Another sps grow under Vega in 9 months time from tiny frag to big colony ... http://s1201.photobucket.com/user/Sengreef/media/20130708_174659_zps2bf023c5.jpg.html'> http://s1201.photobucket.com/user/Sengreef/media/20130803_194357_zps93384e89.jpg.html'> http://s1201.photobucket.com/user/Sengreef/media/20131102_164051_zpse108e764.jpg.html'> http://s1201.photobucket.com/user/Sengreef/media/20131222_164937_zps66aa82d1.jpg.html'> http://s1201.photobucket.com/user/Sengreef/media/20140323_164102_zpsc3078880.jpg.html'>
  13. my nutrient is very high site PO4 at 0.1~0.2 range highest can reach 0.77 & NO3 at 10~20 range highest can reach 80 suddenly due to heavy feeding many fishes but if I force PO4 drop below 0.1 or NO4 drop below 10 my magnifica anemone will melt away tats y maintain at tat level with only rowaphos & sulphur without others carbon dosing ... those thick type sps like humilis, gemifera, abro, samoensis etc will not survive in my tank they turn brown stop growing than suddenly rtn in few weeks ...
  14. its because of "Vega" ... but still many type of sps cannot survive in my high nutrient tank so keep those easy one only ...
  15. Hi bro don't ask me about tat my tank consider ultra high nutrient with poor water quality because of my lazy style of reefing without any carbon dosing & wc only done when found rtn or stn or salinity drop even skimmer cup never clean for months ... so my water parameter really paiseh to tell ... a latest pic taken few days ago the tenuis grow a lot ... pic just taken with my samsung S3 ... http://s1201.photobucket.com/user/Sengreef/media/20140419_183742_zps8cf5793c.jpg.html'>
  16. morish idol & mandarin <0.3 , dwarf angel and juv angel <0.4 , butterfly, clownfish, tang, wrasse, anthias, fusilier 0.5 or above but max still below 0.8 I have try ... just from my experience and me using JBL test kit more stable than others ie: salifert, sera, API etc ...
  17. try Herbtana its reef safe & work for me ... but need to turn off skimmer for 10 days treatment ... have try medic but doesn't work for me ...
  18. me have success to keep many type of anthias b4 but sunset consider most difficult for me & never success same as evansi ... they only feed on live food and very shy they need at least 5~10 as a ground have higher chance to come out feeding & survive ...
  19. its very hardy coral u can cut whatever size u wan & just stick with glue gel onto frag plug or any rock will do but some time u need to stick few time becos toadstoll changing skin very often so not easy to stick it too depends luck & timing but it will recover very fast nothing to worry about ...
  20. u can cut any soft coral easily with fragging tool (scissor) directly inside your tank include leather & xenia too but xenia is more difficult to stick it with glue gel on a plug or any rock the best way is put in a tupperware with low wave & wait it to stick itself just take 2~3 days ...
  21. OMG its a blenny !!! thanks for the ID ... Saw it at Penang LFS from a Philippines shipment ...
