  15. Hi guys; Thanks for the reply. I have been using natural sea water for my water changes; my corals n fishes seems to like it. I have switched to using D&D salt mix; since 1mth ago which I did not see any improvements. So I am thinking to switch back to NSW; hassle of mixing salt measuring Plz advice Since Im gonna be using seawater; so I'll get ph, calculcium, magnesium & kh buffer. What do u guys think?
  16. hi Guys; What is the recommended reef test kit that u guys uses? For testing trace elements? (calcium, dkh, magnesium etc) hi i have a 12g Nanocube setup for almost a year. Stocked mostly with corals(LPS) and 3 fishes. I had the API Saltwater test kit (Ammonium, PH, Nitrate, Nitrite) since day 1. I have little use of it now since my tank is cycled then and i do weekly NSW changes (i live 5 mins drive to the sea) My concern is that my corals are not actually thriving but just enuff to live by the day. Recently im starting to see that my LPS receding its flesh; happens to my bubble coral and donut coral which i had them from day 1. THing is: I have not done any trace element dosing to my tank at all. pH has alwez been low as far as i can remember. Question is: What should i start with? Do i start buying calcium, dkh magnesium liquids? Also for those who did; i am assuming you bought test kits for them too please advise on which best test kit and trace elements to buy
  17. the size of the tank is L 15. 8" X W 13 .8" x H 14.8" No chiller, since i put it in my bedroom. Average temp im getting from my digital thermometer ranges from 26-29degress~ My plate coral is getting toooo huge, i gonna give it up for adoption soon ha~
  18. JBJ 12g NanoCube Started 2nd June 2010 Chamber 1 - Filter Floss Chamber 2 - Handful of chaetos powered by LED Chamber 3 - Pump with bag of ChemiPure Started with synthetic salt. Changing water every weekend. Eventually grew "LAZY" with the hassle of mixing salt. Buckets measurement n etc. End up juggling a jerry can of NSW from the beach every Sat since i live 10mins away from shore. Seems like the corals like it more than mix salt. Plate Coral, Carnation, Torch, Trumpet, Cabbage, Open brain, Green Bubble, White Bubble, Hairy Mushroom, Tube Anemone, Donut Coral, Pink Ricordea, Zoas, Urchin, Turbo Snail. Never had any luck with fishes in this tank Had a tomato clown once, died. White spots Tried with 2 clown fish, died. White Slime Plate coral, zoas and bubble corals have grown tremendously. Looking at the crowd i shud better cut down on the direct feeding of my corals. Pink carnation is my latest addition. 2 weeks old. Heard that it is hard/impossible to keep, that requires feeding daily. Trying my best to keep it alive. Is the color of this open brain commonly found? I picked this while diving sometime ago Looks like i am overstocking my tank~? Tempations!! cant be helped hah
  19. 2 new coral additions. Can someone help me identify. Thanks
  20. I picked these Zoas on a sunny morning behind my backyard by the beach. I glued 4 diff types of it to a small rock. These are clearly much much smaller than the usual Zoas i have. What are they called? Micro Zoas? got such thing? Also what are these mushrooms called? Or are these even called mushrooms They are greenish in color
  21. recommendation of any off-the-shelf bacteria drops?
