  1. You have to buy a TDS, or else how are you going to test.... do not assume the new unit gives you 0 PPM ... at least you see in my case. Mine came with a TSD.
  2. I found out the reasons. I came to notice a small note on the equipment box "No black connection" ... and finally i discovered there are missing rubber stoppers which hold the cartriage tight in the canister. I inserted cut my filter sponge and fit into the canister to hold the cartriage tight and finally i got 0 ppm. Apparently, the LSF which sold me the DI wasn't honest enough to tell me the missing rubber stoppers. Make sure you check yours carefully when you got it.
  3. the TDS is designed such that i can only connect the "IN" to the 2nd filter which the water had already passed/filtered by the 1st and 2nd filter.
  4. the supplied TDS do not have a calibration option.. I am not given the pen TDS but a rect box TDS device which both ends connect to the DI tubes.
  5. i tried many times, trhe best i got is 16 PPM. IS this good enough as compared to distilled water?
  6. Hi, I just brought a new Crystal Pro 3 stages DI. However the TDS readings for "IN" is 31PPM and "OUT" is 29PPM... shouldn't i be getting around 0 for a new set? Is 29 PPM good compared to distilled water?
  7. Bro, do you still need to add anti-chlorine solution etc. and left the water for overnight, with the crystal pro?
  8. $40!? I told my wife only $10....dont know how to hide from her...... this is like running an air-con unit 24X7 in a small room....
  9. any idea nitrate = High range : 25, Low range : 2.5 what does this mean?
  10. I'm using REDSEA testkit. On the color, it just shows "start", "end" ... no instructions.
  11. and also, for Alk and Mg, the color charts show "start" and "end" . What do these mean? How do i get a value from the chart?
  12. hi bro, this is my 3rd day cycling the tank with a market prawn ammonia = 1.0 nitrite = 0.2 nitrate = High range : 25, Low range : 2.5 ** i dont know how this should be read... From the reading Nitrate is very high, at this point do i need to do a water change? Thanks.
  13. yes i got manual with the recommended temp/sanilty etc. ...but as Jacky suggested just ignore the temperature... or else how to i bring down the water (water change) temperature to 24 deg c? Unless i have another chiller....
  14. My ammonia reading shot up yesterday after introducing raw prawn 2 days ago. I got some reading on nitrite . ... nitrate remains 0. ... thank guys...
  15. 1. Does brandnew crystal pro comes with the original cartridges and resins? 2. where can i get the cartridges and resins you mentioned from? any name, brand etc.? Tks.
  16. i want to get this di system... is this system good? can you pm me how much you pay for this?
  17. i decide to get a mini fan than a pc fan and hide inside the cabinet.... very pressure now .... $$$... spent a lot liao... and don't how much increase in the electric bill this month.... expensive hobby...
  18. No.. i was reading the hydrometer instructions... just confused how to maintain the water to 24 deg c ... since i can ignore the temp .. i am clear now. tks.
  19. i am kinda confused mixing salt water. Am i right to say as long as the SG read from the hydrometer is between 1.022 to 1.028 is OK? that is to say regardless of the water temperature ?
  20. Noted... i am monitoring these few days and it seems the air around is not that hot. Now, I'm leaving the cabinet door open in the day where no one is at home and at night where i go to sleep.
  21. hi jacky, i also see that you're using Vortech MP10, one day it's ok, slient, even i tune to the max. day 2, it starts to make some noticable noise if i tune to the max... is this normal? Tks.
  22. the cabinet rear has a big opening. My chillers come with 6 months warranty. I just use for 3 days and i found a problem - e.g. sometimes , for some reasons, it dont work if the difference beteen water temperature and set temperature differ by a decimal point. Eg. Set temp is 28 deg and water temp is 28.5 temp... i have to change the set temp to 27 deg maybe.. then it begins to kick off. at this time, i change the set temp to 28deg then ok....
  23. i am not mounting the fan to the cabinet rear but maybe putting on the top or side of the chiller... do you think this would help to disperse the heat ?
