  1. I found out the reasons. I came to notice a small note on the equipment box "No black connection" ... and finally i discovered there are missing rubber stoppers which hold the cartriage tight in the canister. I inserted cut my filter sponge and fit into the canister to hold the cartriage tight and finally i got 0 ppm. Apparently, the LSF which sold me the DI wasn't honest enough to tell me the missing rubber stoppers. Make sure you check yours carefully when you got it.

  2. 1. Does brandnew crystal pro comes with the original cartridges and resins? - yes. but bear in mind, they will last only about 2- 3 months usage for a nano type of tank water usage.

    2. where can i get the cartridges and resins you mentioned from? any name, brand etc.?

    I have posted some pics on my old thread on the refillable cartridge and resins.

    As to how to get them.. ummm ... my only source is still through Peter Tee but unfortunately he is no longer active in this forum. If you are really keen, you can drop me a PM. I can help link you up with him.

    Bro, do you still need to add anti-chlorine solution etc. and left the water for overnight, with the crystal pro?

  3. hi bro,

    this is my 3rd day cycling the tank with a market prawn

    ammonia = 1.0

    nitrite = 0.2

    nitrate = High range : 25, Low range : 2.5 ** i dont know how this should be read...

    From the reading Nitrate is very high, at this point do i need to do a water change?

    Thanks.

  4. brand new at C328 cost about $195.

    but dun get brand new. just a second hand and get cartridges and resins like what I have mentioned.

    cheaper and can last you 1 yr + instead of 3 months.

    Tks.

  5. kk,

    hmmm... your chiller.... try not to place inside the cabinet.

    I think the RSM cabinet does not have holes at the side or front... even if they have, the heat cannot be dissipated well.

    You can place a PC or AC fan there but after a few weeks, the fan becomes weak and does not serve its purpose.

    unless if you open up the door and blow a standing mini fan at it.

    Note: The chiller is at its hottest when it has run for sometime and just about the cut off. Check the air around then... it can be rather hot.

    Noted... i am monitoring these few days and it seems the air around is not that hot. Now, I'm leaving the cabinet door open in the day where no one is at home and at night where i go to sleep.

  6. the cabinet rear has a big opening. My chillers come with 6 months warranty. I just use for 3 days and i found a problem - e.g. sometimes , for some reasons, it dont work if the difference beteen water temperature and set temperature differ by a decimal point. Eg. Set temp is 28 deg and water temp is 28.5 temp... i have to change the set temp to 27 deg maybe.. then it begins to kick off. at this time, i change the set temp to 28deg then ok....

  7. PC fans are good too, but you will need some modifications and wiring into a AC/DC Adaptor. I have used Nidec before, quite reliable.

    i am not mounting the fan to the cabinet rear but maybe putting on the top or side of the chiller... do you think this would help to disperse the heat ?

  8. ya....quite comfortable with the price, the starter kit, the size... and saw many people had success with this tank in the other forum... it was fairly noisy except when the chiller kicks in... only have budget to get hailac :P
