  1. I think what he means is to get small tangs and get big tangs only if his tank is 5-6 ft in size.
  2. I don't see that you are keeping much SPS. In this case, CR is not needed. For dosing pumps, you can get them online at a cheaper price. But you will need to connect the dosing pumps to a AC/DC adaptor as the input for the dosing pumps range from 3V to 12V. Higher voltage dosing pumps normally have a higher dosing rate.
  3. Your tank is coming along nicely.
  4. If your tank was rusty, you would have to remove all the rust by using a wire brush first before painting over the metal again. Other wise if you paint over the rusty parts, it's not going to do much good.
  5. Get the computer fans and DIY yourself. Otherwise you can go to C328 and get the 4 or 6 in a row fans.
  6. Shouldn't be a problem for plants to grow.
  7. For these, not necessary to add anything. Regular water changes will suffice.
  8. Macro algae is used to reduce the nitrates in the tank. Red bamboo algae is also a food source for tangs and other herbivorous fishes in your tank.
  9. http://reef.diesyst.com/chemcalc/chem_calc3.html This reef calculator will be able to tell you how much you need to dose, but you must first test your KH and then decide what KH you want for your tank. As for increase in PH, baking soda has no effect on PH. I have raised the KH of my tank by 5 dKH immediately and there wasn't any effect on my corals. The only thing to take note is that you have to dose in a high flow area of your tank, otherwise the high KH might cause calcium carbonate to precipitate out of your tank water and this will lead to a decrease in ca. Arm & Hammer is used by many reefers in USA and has been proven to be safe to use.
  10. Buy the Arm & Hammer brand from NTUC. 100% baking soda. Cheap and good.
  11. Your bio load is really high with the number of tangs that you have in your tank. But as long as you are not keeping SPS it should be ok.
