  5. Well it can be quite unsightly but i doubt will do too much harm. However i got a smaller tank that is connected to the main tank using an overflow box. Worried too much bubbles will accumulate in the overflow box causing the overflow siphon to break and then flooding. So far not tried the sock yet but used a slightly thicker type of filter wool and that managed to reduce the bubbles by quite alot.
  6. Managed to clear up most of the bubbles after took out main pump to clean. still have some micro bubbles caused by skimmer. Put in alot of filter wool but it does not seem to help.
  7. Managed to move my tank to my new place. However the return pipes are squirting out alot of micro bubbles. I turned off my skimmer for about half an hour and the bubbles are still there. What could be the cause? Something stuck in main pump? Main pump flow too big? Any bros can advise?
  8. Old place there is a lift, new place is those old walk up apartments. Rocks, corals and fishes almost killed me. Got SGbros to move the tank this wed. Current holding tub pictures attached as well as the tank dirty water after removal of rocks
  9. Well decided to throw away most of the sand, will only keep just enough for my 2 feet tank which will be linked to the main tank sump. Carrying over 100kg of sand up 3 floors is no joke. Will need a crash course on bare bottom tank essentials.
  10. Well basically i will be transferring and reusing the sand as well so have to drain out into pails, i have about 5 pails so siphon out the sand into the pails with water, let the sand settle and pour out the water. Before that stir the sand in the existing water in the tank to clean the sand abit first. Will try that tomorrow. Today have to get the corals, rocks and fish out.
  11. Sianz..... Then the last bits of sand how to remove? Was thinking of using hose to siphon the sand out with the water. My reservist unit is PDF, alot of experience in digging. dun wanna play sand in civillian.
  12. Going to clear out my Tank this weekend for a house move, can anyone advise what would be the best way to get the sand out of the tank? My DSB is about 4 inches.
  13. Wife been busy with 2 kids thus no update on the tank for a long while. After some problems with the rusty main return pump, tank is slowly getting better. However going to move house middle of this month and will post pictures of the move for future reference in case anyone else plannaing to move a tank of this size.
  14. Thanks for the info, will explore some of the suggestions
  15. Dropped my MH lamp and the glass cracked. Anyone got a good recommendation on where to replace the glass?
  16. Sea Cucumber managed to go into the overflow, pass all the filters, down into the sump and stuck in the main pump. Released some chemicals that wiped out every single fish. Other than that the usual flooding twice.
  17. Any Giant Clams available? My current one not doing too well, looking for replacement
  18. Did consider Eheim, but the 1264 is only 4500l/h. Old pump was giving 8000 so needed something similar.
