  1. Any sights of shrimps, cleaner, blood, and sexy shrimps? Happy new year to all!
  2. How about the durability of the vortech pumps?
  3. Is it worth the higher price for vortech? I m having doubts on tunze quality. Have been changing the power transformer every one year or so.
  4. Thanks guys. Will give 328 a try when 2 of my tanks r empty
  5. Thanks for the info guys Do they top up on the spot, leave there n collect another day, or 1-1 exchange?
  6. Hi guys, Does anyone know of lobang for co2 top up around choa chu kang or north / west area? Possible to share the cost per bottle as well? Thanks in advance
  7. Calibration n accuracy of the probe is a variable. For me, I always measure the water outlet dkh to see if it is over 40. If not, I will lower the controller cut off limit. Measurement is done when the ph is at the lower cutoff limit. U also need to regularly measure the tank dkh to check if the reactor output is sufficient to meet your tank demand. This is my practice, it works for me HTH
  8. Good for cleaning your reef equipment, n wipe down your furniture
  9. Sheng siong have. The one I always find stock is at the woodlands check point aka old woodlands. The one at jurong west have, but limited.
  10. I have tried not changing water for my 6ft tank, and only top up using unfiltered water weekly. Initially for the 1st few months, all things still looks ok, but then, i observed a build up of algae with time. I am running skimmer, algae scrubber, and Np biopellets. Have now switched to DI water for top up.
  11. Oh gosh, u r really so cool bro. Tomorrow I will make a trip down for it. Really lots of thanks 
  12. Thanks for the info bro. Saw on Ehiem website the refugees available r for the smaller tubing sizes. My is the biggest n middle sizes. I will there n check it out.
  13. Hi, Is there any step up connector to connect a 16/22 Ehiem tubing to the next size up? Have bought a pump of smaller diameter n need to hook up to skimmer inlet.
  14. Parameters are ok. But I don't like the fact that it does not dissolve fully, white residue remaining
  15. The bucket I purchased about one year back has good ca dkh n mg. The test conducted in reef central also indicate good parameters. Could the low parameters b a case of quality issue?
  16. It is cheaper n easier to do massive water change with good salt water ( good parameters) than to add the additives with constant monitoring. NSW tend to have lower levels of the parameters, why don't u measure them and check the levels. hth
  17. Dropped photography for quite some time. Saw your photos, so inspiring. Feel like taking out the camera and do some snapping
  18. How about that use for aircon piping? Natural cool outlet at old woodland centre has quite a lot of such things
  19. Light will also encourage life to start growing on the rocks. Study has shown oxygen level increases more with light on as compared to the amount contributed by skimmer. In my opinion, i will turn on a few tubes.
  20. Didn't know there is a battery operated type? Any pics to show, and where to get them?
  21. What is the market price for flame wrasse nowadays? Still 140?
  22. Ever since the arrival of my baby girl, i have not change water for my 6ft for close to 5 mths (last one in dec). I do not have a high bioload, approx about 10 fishes, including shit bulls like 1x yellow tang and 1x regal blue. Beening feeding only pellets 2x a day, and nori 1x every 2 days. Mine is mixed lps and sps. SPS is still growing well. I do have a diy algae scrubber, deltec skimmer, and recently the np biopellet, all running currently. The system seems to be running well. And i am exploring using direct tap water (with conditioner) as top up water. Previously using DI water as top up.
  23. When i first started my tank, also bought a whole range of test kits. Eventually, only find a few useful ones in my opinion. Useful - calcium - dkh - magnesium - NO3 These should be more than sufficient to run a reef tank over the long run. Not so useful - ammonia (only use a few times during tank setup, not using it upon cycling finish. if you are patient enough during the cycling period, maybe don't need this kit. my 2nd startup i did not use this) - NO2 (same as ammonia) - ph (never test this before) - phosphate (test kit not sensitive, use algae growth in the tank as a gauge instead) Patience and good husbandary is still the key to maintaining a healthy tank.
