  2. Guide for NOPOX. Test your Nitrate level before using NOPOX Estimate your total volume of water (aquarium & sump less volume of live rocks etc) Once you have confirmed the nitrate level and tank volume, dose NOPOX according to the chart below: Efficient protein skimming is essential to provide the necessary oxygenation to the aquarium and to remove bacterial flocks from the water. NOPOX must be added consistently on a daily basis to prevent starvation and destruction of the nitrate reducing bacteria. If you miss one or more days of using NOPOX do not add the extra amount that you have missed, instead resume the dosing at the current daily dose you calculated. Note, as your nitrate reduces, the amount of NOPOX you add also reduces, so keep testing your nitrate during the first few months of using NOPOX, until you reduce it to 1-0.25ppm, and then continue at that dosage. NPX is a carbon source that provide nutrition to bacteria which break down nitrate. If your nitrate levels are high, then NPX will stimulate a large bacteria population to start breaking down nitrates. Therefore, be careful not to overdose NPOX, and never use more than the recommended dosage. If you overdose, then the bacteria produced may deplete oxygen in the water. Hence the need for an efficient protein skimmer to aerate the water. If you have overdosed, then immediately perform a large water change For use on SPS aquariums, and more detail advice, please read the product manual. NPX is an extremely effective product for reducing nitrate in your aquarium, use is carefully and according to the dosing instructions, and you should achieve low levels of nitrates quickly and be able to maintain them at the low level forever.
  3. Dear Hobbyist, Here at Red Sea, we take coral lighting needs seriously. And after years of research and testing, Red Sea is proud to release the all-new ReefLED™ smart reef lighting system. These lights have been designed to ensure optimal coral growth, dramatic coloration and a gentle shimmer throughout the aquarium. The ReefLED lights are guaranteed to be Reef-Safe and REEF-SPEC® and with its unique daylight channels they’re also very easy to set up. The built-in wi-fi connects them directly to the internet, enabling you to control them from your smart phone using Red Sea’s ReefBeat® smart aquarium app. Here’s a little dip into the details: Reef-Safe and REEF-SPEC: ReefLED provides the precise intensity and spectrum of light that are actually used by corals. The single compact L.E.D. array includes a multi-wavelength “REEF-SPEC Blue” channel (a proprietary blend of blue, violet and ultraviolet LEDs) which together with an 8,000K White channel provides a reef-safe range of color temperatures that enable all corals to flourish. ReefLED also includes an optical-glass, hollow lens that ensures a homogenous light spectrum with ideal PAR values throughout the aquarium, without hotspots or areas with insufficient light for coral growth. Easy set-up and control: The ReefBeat app provides a number of preset lighting programs you can choose from as well as additional features including sunrise/sunset effects, lunar cycle moonlights, random clouds and an acclimation program for new installations. ReefBeat also provides best-practice guidelines during setup as well useful notifications to your smartphone, for example, in the event of a power outage. Two models to choose from: The ReefLED 90 includes 80W of REEF-SPEC Blue, 10W of 8,000 Kelvin White & 3W of dedicated moonlight and is suitable for aquariums of up to 65cm depth. The ReefLED 50 includes 40W of REEF-SPEC Blue, 10W of 8,000 Kelvin White & 3W of dedicated moonlight and is suitable for aquariums of up to 50cm depth. To get the full specs, visit our ReefLED product page and see our product video that features corals after 2 years under the ReefLED 90 lights. Happy Reefkeeping, The Red Sea Team

  5. Nopox causes no harm to the livestocks. When overdosed, it could cause bacterial bloom which would deplete the oxygen level and thus killing fishes. Please share what other products that you are using in conjunction with nopox. Are you using any skimmer for your nano tank?
  6. No, you should not do that, simply reduce the dosage according to the dosage recommendation.
