  3. Hi, can't upload pic at frag exchange section so post it here. Looking to swap wif reefers in bbukit panj as it's more convenient for both of us. Looking to deal at nite over this wkend. Size of frag is abt 2" Parent colony
  4. Had googled tat mandarin fish eggs are free floating and watched videos during the eggs releasing process. Yesterday my mandarins were piaking n gave out I suppose eggs n sperm. But contrary to the eggs being transparent, I saw white "seed(0.5mm)" encased in a transparent jelly, machiam frogs egg. There are also some transparent jelly without the white seed. I suppose I need to scoop out those jelly masses with white seeds only. The question is how long I should wait before I do tat so tat I will not disrupt the fertilization of the eggs. Thanks.
  5. An abstract from this link regarding Dosing peroxide. So it confirm my observation is correct. http://netclub.athiel.com/redox.html "Adding hydrogen peroxide (not at all recommended, but some hobbyists do) will make the redox potential drop to the 70 or 80 mv level (actually one good use of it is when one injects ozone and has residual ozone in the tank - adding just one drop of hydrogen peroxide will neutralize the residual ozone instantly)."
  6. Finally decided to give up on biopellets. Am using the npx brand. It seems to work more on nitrates than po4. Even though I dose nitrate, my po4 hardly budge. Had also tried using peroxide to kill buable algae and hoping that it will aid in neutralizing po4 as it did lower the po4. But had observed that my orp will drop from 29x to 22x if I utilize 50ml of peroxide. So wouldn't want to take too much risk while battling bubble algae. The current test is on nopox by redsea. For this type of carbon dosing, I find tat my po4 has a faster reaction in terms of reduction but my nitrate reacted much slower. Water looks clearer. One important factor I notice is my orp which had all the while stabilizing at 29x, has increased to 35x after 2 wks of nopox. Chilli coral is extending and for longer periods. Previously when there's high po4, it doesn't extend at all. So I guess a reefer can use a chilli coral to act as a indicator for high po4. But my thorny oyster shell opening is smaller. But seafans are well.
  7. i inject into my bubble algae n some hair algae using a needle syringe. But I find my orp going down instead of up, from 29x to 22x, So do with care.
  8. not sure if cleaner shrimp will help. But look like some organism tat attach itself to the fish. Maybe u need to consider the current health status before performing freshwater dip or other medication.
  9. Cf Kind of sponge?? The lure fish in finding nemo whereby the antenna looks like a worm. Cardinal? Odd looking tang.
  10. can try apitasia remover or hydrogen peroxide and inject into them to kill them.
  11. which laojiao got say newbie act pro when newbie give advice?
  12. Doing auto feeding requires the consideration of water flow directions. Cos u dose at the surface and wait for it to sink into the water. If your flow is strong, all yr food will be blown away, leaving little chance/enough food to reach the polyps of the nps. I've tried 2 ways to do auto feeding but I prefer using a dosing pump. Just mix the food together but as these food will settle at the bottom on the container, u need to diy a stirrer.
  13. they are pple using hydrogen peroxide to get rid of gha on zoas. Correct administration of peroxide u can google for peroxide n zoas
  14. hi, mine is ocellaris black n Bali clown but I suppose they exhibit same behaviour. They are clearing up area for spawning. They looking for a flat surface such as rock. Flat here doesn't mean those fully flat but when they sweep n sweep n nothing can be swept up, they will start spawning. If u have sandbed, it will keep sweeping until it find the glass bottom.
  15. aquariapro has trend chart capability whereas fish room doesn't (I think) Fish room has an encyclopedia of fish, corals n inverts. U measure yr salinity, ph, etc n enters in the values. It can be set up as reminder to do maintenance n other stuff. Since it's free, I just downloaded them n try out. Guess similar to aqua planner which cost a fee to download. Aquariapro
  16. Chanced upon these 2 apps. 1) the fish room 2) aquariapro I would prefer the aquariapro for its sleek look and intuitive touch. But the fish room got a list of fish, coral n inverts library.
