Wow, your sps has grown so much.

Nice inverts u have there. May I ask what's the purple color patch of stuff on the LHS of the FTS?
Just below the lights? Can't see clearly from the photo.

Thanks! I'll drop by madpetz. Reefdepot is also nearby there isn't it? I recall seeing it when driving out of sin ming towards thompson road.
What cleanup crew should I be looking at aside from 2x clownfish?
Decommissioning the freshwater IQ5 today!
I think getting the pacific black sand 5lbs ones shoud be enough, unless u want the DSB which is not really practical given the space constraint.

Very nice & beautiful tank, bro.

One of my clown got naughty again and leap out of my beta box. Haiz...
Arrgghh......Still unable to get my rbta out of that stupid rock......sian.
Now leaving it upside down and putting another small LR near it. Hope it choose to attach itself to the small rock.
Maybe will try the dipping in & out water another day over the weekend. Just now tried this method but the anemone just refused to barge.

So far so good. Both corals did not sting each other.
Ok, that's good. Both looked very healthy although they seem very near to hit each other.

I put bio- ball. So far no problem.
Need to clean once in awhile if not will collect detritus.

Ya, I realized it usually like to attach itself to underside of a rock for better security & protection. Those really far to reach corners.
-
No guarantee but u can try this...
Gently take the rock out of the water then back into the water with the anemone upside down) over and over again. The anemone will let go of the rock in approx 5-10 min.
Ok, I give it a try tonite, thks.

You're welcome. And welcome to the dark side.
Ha ha... Thks again!

Got 2 frags of color sticks from a nice reefer yesterday. Will try to post some pics soon.
-
Yesterday managed to catch one of my black ice. Then this morning, while the other in a daze, half asleep mode, caught it as well. Now put them both in beta box with my rock of zoas & rbta. Hope they can host it soon. I still got no idea how to separate the rbta from it. Now some of zoas are not opening due the rbta there.
-
Thks for your frags yesterday & up for your sales.

Your torch coral seem like fighting with your true octopus coral, they won't sting each other?

Not really, the CR tank actually came with a external sump, but I removed it with Vincent's help and added in his designed sump to increase the size.
If Vincent can help, maybe I can ask him to install one for me. Thanks again.

As mentioned, most prefer to keep overflow box clean as placing LRs and stuffs in there will create a low oxygenated water at the bottom half of the overflow box.
Noisy overflow can be tuned if you have a this will greatly reduce the noisy and splashes.
Hope that helps.
OIC, another knowledge gained, thanks. Dun think mine has one cos I rem mine was quite noisy, that's why I put all the stuff in there to reduce the splashing.
-
I would keep it empty, reason being, most overflow are built to drain water from the top from a pipe. Hence by placing things in there, it stales up the water at the bottom.
Maybe others have different takes.
If u dun put anything in your overflow, wouldn't it be very noisy with all the water flowing & splashing down to the sump? Do u do any buffering to reduce the noise?
-
Ok, any other views from others, pls share, thank you.

After I released my rbta to my tank, my clowns also enjoy the huge reef tank space & dun want to host the rbta. Now I'm at a lost, dunno what to do.
