  1. 2 x GSP, each on 5x5cm acrylic plate. Grown on plate, not glued-on. Ideal if you plan to create a GSP wall. Simply attach acrylic plate to your wall with 1 small bead of glue, and watch them outgrow the plate onto your wall. 1pc @ $30 or 2pcs for $50. IMG_6237.MOV
  2. I think $150 for all these items seems like a good deal. Subjected to the conditions of these items. If the question is in filtration, I think the back chamber should provide enough space for medias, for a lightly stocked tank. What you need to consider is, the small compartment size will limit the Skimmer size. There will a be limited number of good skimmer with footprint that can fit inside, so you won’t have much options. You need to consider how you want to pipe the Chiller IN&OUT. Using 1 pump for return and another pump for chiller? If so, does sump have enough space to fit 2 pumps. Or if using only 1 pump for both chiller and return, you may need a stronger(bigger) pump, then will the bigger pump fit inside the sump? Best you look at the dimensions and check what equipment options can fit inside the sump and if you are comfortable with these options.
  3. If you are really only going to have 2 clowns and some corals, then I would think either a skimmer or refugium or ATS would be sufficient. Your HOB Power Filter would mainly serve as Mechanical Filter, as there’s usually not much space for Bio Filter media. So unless you have tons of LR inside the tank, else it would be good to add another HOB for Biological Filter. That said, HOB increases water loss due to evaporation. So you need to think about too many HOBs, and if to add a ATO system.
  4. First guess would be aiptasia. But can’t see clearly to confirm.
  5. I think my Toadstool think it’s a Clam, lol.
  6. Looks like. Anyway he’s got a copperband.
  7. I noticed you will be introducing a Bi-color Dottyback. Be cautious as it will likely harass the purple firefish. Hope you have a tank cover.
  8. Maybe increase the Blue spectrum of the light and add some Red colored corals.
  9. Not forgetting the biggest in my small tank. Bigger than the size of my open hand….I got big hands, haha.
  10. Have heard many stories of Dosing error crashing tank. My tank location is not where I stay, thus can’t check on the pump frequently. One error, all gone.
  11. What is the safest and most convenient way to raise KH, best without affecting other parameters like pH?
  12. Might really have to Frag my toadstool as seems getting too big. It’s like the past 2 weeks sudden growth spurt, haha.
  13. Are the “floating matters” always there or occasionally seen? You need to establish if these are being churned up from within the display area itself or are being thrown up from your sump. if Sump, then it’s time to clean the sump and probably the bio media. If from display, can have several reasons. A few of them like, maybe your flow is too strong. To me, 2 wave makers for what I think looks like a 2ft tank is a bit overkill. Or you added something into tank that redirected the flow pattern thus new flow stream is flushing out dead areas. Howeve in general, these should slowly clear up, as your water is being slowly filtered through your filter sponge.
  14. Sorry, no Frags as had bad experience in fragging toadstools though is supposedly easy. I think there are some reefers selling frags recently in Pasar Malam.
  15. Personally, I don’t think corals such as Torch and Duncans are good to be used as Host for Clownfishes. Reason is that the rough actions of the fish (ie. nudging against the coral, strong tail swinging when in the coral) could cause the coral’s soft tissue to be injured by the coral’s own sharp “bones”, finally resulting in death. But if you still want to have them as host, there are several ways that may work, for example: - Remove the fish to QT tank for a few days. Then reintroduce it to DT directly over/into the coral. Better still if you are able to surround the coral with something such that the clown is restricted to only swim near the coral for sometime. - Use a stick to herd the fish to the coral. Keep it swimming around there for as long as you can. The purpose is to make the fish feel insecure, get it used to be near the coral and make it feel that place is a good refuge from the stick. The stick itself should never go near the coral. Good Luck.
  16. Any reefer have a small piece of Pink Birdnest or Pink Millie to let go? For Birdnest would like the fat round tip type and not the pointy tip type. Please do PM me if anyone have to spare, with price n photo. Thanks:)
